GOP is Nailing Its Own Coffin

The GOP is Nailing Its Own Coffin
By Natalie Schultz

Dear fellow Republicans,

As you are well aware, this coming November we will be facing the wrath of Hillary Clinton.  A year ago it seemed that we were a united Party determined to defeat the Devil Herself.   However, instead of gearing up to take on the Clinton Machine, it seems that the greatest accomplishment of this election year has been bringing to light the chaos within the GOP.  The three camps of “conservatism” are fighting against each other in a head-to-head war of their own making.  The seeds of destruction of the Republican Party were planted in the 1970’s by a very clever group of Democrats, avowed Trotskyites who were sickened by the anti-war Hippie movement of the 1960’s, who realized that re-working the Republican Party from within would be easier than trying to control their own comrades on the Left.  In a brilliant play for power, they aligned themselves with the most unlikely bedfellows, the rapidly growing Christian Fundamentalist Evangelical movement.  Manipulation, deceit and fraud were the common links between the leaders of this new Religious Right and the new “neoconservative” power brokers.  Together they joined forces to help ring in a new era known as the “Reagan Coalition.”  Unfortunately for the NeoCON power brokers, they were not able to control Reagan and his central core of traditional Conservative Republicans, but they did increase their own ranks enough to make their desires known and wrinkle quite a few feathers.

By the end of the Reagan Administration, the split was becoming obvious.  The original, traditional Conservatives were loosing control of the Republican Party, and Big Government, pro-war NeoCONism was winning out.  This split led to a North-South, Left-Right divide and ushered in Bill Clinton in 1992.  The core tenets of Republicanism, small government, low taxes and low spending, a strong defensive military, and avoidance of international conflicts all but disappeared.  Many Conservatives just gave up and followed their leader, Pat Buchanan, out of the Party.  So, in 1994 Newt Gingrich took the helm and ushered in a new era of Republicanism that managed to curb the Socialist agenda of the Clintons.  By the year 2000 the entire country was sick of Clinton’s antics, and the “moral majority” ushered in George W. Bush.  Bush was elected on a traditional Conservative “No nation building” platform, but that did not last for long.

By the time Bush took the helm, the NeoCONs controlled the Republican Party via their media empire of FOX News and The Weekly Standard.  Suddenly “Globalization” and “Israel First” became the mantra of the Republican Party, and Big Government joined forces with Big Business to undermine the will of the American People.  All notions of true Conservatism were marginalized as “isolationist.”  But then the lies behind the War in Iraq were revealed, American jobs started disappearing, and a non-stop invasion across our southern border made the American People wake up.

Who is to blame?  Yes, the Bush administration and its lackeys, but truthfully, the Democrats are just as complicit.  And the American People know it.  That is why this race is not so straightforward.  Everyone knows that Hillary is not really anti-war, but then again neither is Obama.  Contrary to popular belief, the Democrats are not a shoe-in for the Presidency.  The problem is, ultimately, on the Republican side.

So the bloody war begins.  The NeoCONs truly believed they had the election controlled, that Rudy would be King.  And, just as a backup, Hillary wouldn’t be too bad either.  But then two monkey wrenches were thrown into their ultimate plan: Barack Obama and Ron Paul.  The “race-card” has essentially killed Obama for the presidency, but of course Bill, unable to control himself, deep-throated his mouth with his own foot, essentially tainting Hillary in the eyes of Democrats, thereby forcing her hand in choosing her running mate.  But on the Republican side there is total chaos.  Rudy totally floundered, Fred Thompson was a dud, and now the remaining four candidates have the Party fighting amongst themselves.  Huckabee was a ruse introduced by the NeoCONs to siphon off the Religious Right vote.  Knowing he would never get the nomination simply because he could never win a general election, the plan was to eat away at Mitt Romney and Ron Paul.  McCain was so detested by the entire Republican Party that he would never even chart in the polls, right?  Well surprise, surprise!

So now the NeoCONs have flocked around McCain, since he is just as much a war-monger as Rudy.  The problem is that the GOP pundits HATE him, and Huckabee too.  That’s right, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, those “confused conservatives” who profited so much from the NeoCON revolution, are absolutely furious!  They may be pro-war, but they just cannot stand the idea of John McCain, Mr. Big Government “I love Mexico” ever becoming president.  Rush even went so far as to say “I'm here to tell you, if either of these two guys get the nomination, it's going to destroy the Republican Party. It's going to change it forever, be the end of it. A lot of people aren't going to vote. You watch.”  So the war begins!  Now the Religious Right is furious that he is attacking the “Christian” candidate, the NeoCONs are furious that he is attacking McCain, and the rest of us are all just sitting back and laughing “I told you so!”

Finally, the “confused conservatives” have come to their senses.  They know two things: 1) There is no way a Dominionist Baptist Minister who wants to change the Constitution will ever be elected.  2) There is no way that the Republicans will ever forgive McCain for all of his betrayals; even if it is a race against Hillary, because Hillary has always been the enemy, but McCain is an outright traitor.  As Rush said “I can see possibly not supporting the Republican nominee this election, and I never thought that I would say that in my life.”  He speaks for many disgruntled Republicans.

Now, I am not one of these talk radio aficionados, but I do know that Rush is speaking the truth.  The fact is we will be facing the wrath of Hillary in November, and the only way to defeat her is for the entire Republican Party to unite.  The problem with Romney is that no one trusts him.  We will need more than just Republicans voting against Hillary, we will need Independents and Democrats as well, and Mitt Romney does not have that attraction at all.

Face facts: Over 60% of the country wants to end the war in Iraq.  There is no way a pro-war candidate will win, especially not “More War McCain.”  The problem for Hillary is that there are enough disgruntled Democrats who know she is full of crap, essentially the flip-flopper of the Left, so if there is a true anti-war candidate they will cross the Party line.  Plus, there are enough Independents and Democrats who realize that her “economic plan” of spending $120 BILLION immediately (it keeps increasing every day) is absolutely not feasible.  Yes, they may want healthcare reform, but her plan brings back the nightmare of “Hillary Care.”  Remember, Gingrich may have gotten the credit for the 1994 Republican Revolution, but it never would have succeeded without all the votes from Democrats and Independents who were scared beyond belief by Hillary’s attempt to bankrupt and destroy the nation.

There is only one candidate who has an absolutely impeccable Conservative small-government, pro-Constitution record.  No GOP pundit has ever argued that his economic policy is flawed, in fact financial and monetary analysts admit that he is the ONLY candidate who actually understands monetary policy and why our economy is an absolute disaster.  He is the only candidate with a realistic economic plan that will truly fix our economy for the long-term.  Plus, he is the only candidate who has consistently fought against every Constitutional violation our post-9/11 government has enacted against us.  Not even Hillary or Obama can say that without lying.  Therefore, he is the only candidate who can defeat Hillary Clinton in November because no Republican can argue with his Conservative record, and no honest Independent or Democrat can argue with his strict adherence to the Constitution and the fact that he never, ever voted to invade Iraq in the first place.

Ron Paul has created a true Revolution in the Republican Party.  In fact, Ron Paul is the only hope the Republican Party has to remain intact.  Ron Paul has managed to re-unite all the factions of the Republican Party who had walked away over the last thirty years.  Every single Third Party that was born out of Republican disgust has rallied around Ron Paul.  They re-joined the Republican Party in a last ditch effort to save our country from devastation.  Because of this the powers-that-be in both the Republican and Democrat Parties have joined forces with the media to black-out his message.  This in turn has caused many Conservative Republicans who have never had the guts to leave the Party to finally say “That’s it, I’m leaving!”  Unless the Republicans wake up to reality there is going to be a mass-exodus of infinite proportions.

Ron Paul should also not be overlooked for the simple fact that he is the only Republican who has managed to attract a new demographic to the Grand “Old” Party – the youth vote.  Ron Paul’s campaign has the same vigor of grassroots support among the 18-45 voting block as Barack Obama.  He has attracted many young people who never cared about politics before; ignoring Ron Paul jeopardizes the future of the Republican Party.  Now that Obama has been handed the “Kennedy Torch” it is very likely that he will be Hillary’s running mate.  The GOP absolutely needs the young, excited grassroots support of Ron Paul in order to take on Clinton – Obama.  McCain has less than 5% support among 18-29 year olds and less than 10% of those ages 30-44.  Alienating young Republicans will be the kiss of death for the GOP.  It can safely be said that 100% of young Ron Paul supporters absolutely hate McCain; 80-90% hate Obama and Hillary, but 10-20% actually crossed over from the Obama and Kucinich camps.  That 20% will absolutely kill us in November if they decide to vote for Obama, and a good 75% is already planning a new Revolution via a 3rd Party anti-establishment coup if the GOP does not see the light.

Is Ron Paul truly a force to be reckoned with?  You bet.  The Democrats and other Left-Wing elements are so afraid of him that they launched a smear campaign against him that tried to make him out to be a racist.  Although this has been completely de-bunked, it seems to have worked.  The media has completely blacked him out, there is a petition to have Tucker Carlson fired for endorsing him, Pat Buchanan, Jack Cafferty, Jim Cramer and John Stossel have been forced into silence on their own shows.  The only place where liberal / NeoCON censorship has not held sway is on The McLaughlin Group, the ultimate bastion of traditional Conservatism.  How ironic that Ron Paul’s Constitutional message can only be heard on the newest medium of the Web and on one of the oldest mediums of Sunday morning network TV.  But, why are the Democrats so afraid?  Because they know that their base is anti-war and by running against Ron Paul they automatically lose.  The media has been pushing both John McCain and Barack Obama as the ultimate front-runners in this race, to the detriment of all the other candidates.  The media is by far a pro-war propaganda machine, even if the liberal media elites attempt to appear anti-war.  The truth is that most corporate media organizations profit from war and its industrial consequences.  As we all know, the media is anti-Republican at all costs and will hide all truth from the public in order to elect a supposedly anti-war Democratic candidate.  Most voters do not bother to examine candidates’ records on their own, so they are easy targets for the media’s manipulation and lies.  The media is well aware that Ron Paul is the only honest candidate on either side, but they will do anything to hide the truth and push the absolutely unelectable John McCain into the driver’s seat of the Republican Party.

Ron Paul also has the only weapon that all the other candidates, both Republicans and Democrats, lack:  He is a staunch defender of our National Sovereignty.  There is absolutely no difference between McCain, Clinton or Obama on the Illegal Immigration debate.  They all voted for Amnesty.  We all know that the majority of the country was steadfast in their determination to crush the McCain – Kennedy “Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act.”  This one issue alone can turn the November election in the Republican’s favor if Ron Paul is the nominee.  McCain wrote that evil bill, so even though he is flip-flopping now, no one believes him.  Hillary has flip-flopped as well, first approving Spitzer’s driver’s licenses for Illegals bill, then opposing it.  Obama, on the other hand, has not wavered in his approval of both Amnesty as well as giving driver’s licenses to Illegals.  We know that the majority of Americans disagree with all three of these candidates on this issue.  As a doctor in Texas, Ron Paul saw illegal immigrants deliberately cross the border just to have a baby, and then he saw them immediately receive welfare and Medicaid coverage.  He has personally seen many hospitals close due to bankruptcy, thereby negatively affecting the lives of American citizens.  This is why Dr. Ron Paul has written legislation to end “Anchor Babies” by changing the law to specifically state that only the children of LEGAL immigrants will be guaranteed American citizenship.

Ron Paul will outlaw all incentives for illegal immigration, such as welfare and Medicaid; they will then go back to their countries on their own.  By eliminating the incentives and cracking down on employers who hire illegal immigrants, the problem will solve itself.  In addition, all criminal aliens will immediately be deported.  Ron Paul, as a practicing medical doctor for over 30 years, both in private practice as well as a surgeon in the United States Air Force, is the only candidate who is qualified to truly fix our broken healthcare system.  He understands that government bureaucracy, in the guise of “Universal Healthcare” is the absolute worst thing, both for the physical and mental health of Americans, as well as for the health of our economy and individual Rights of Freedom and Liberty.  He understands that as long as we do not secure our borders that we will never solve our healthcare crisis, our fiscal crisis or our national security crisis.

There is only one Presidential Candidate who stands up for the Rights of every single American Citizen.  Only one candidate whose congressional voting record proves that he has NEVER voted against the Constitution of the United States of America.  Only one Presidential candidate who can fix our healthcare system because he has spent over 30 years as a practicing Medical Doctor, both in private practice as well as a surgeon in the United States Air Force.  There is only one Presidential candidate who has consistently called for responsible monetary and fiscal policy and predicted our impending economic collapse, not because he has a crystal ball, but because he is the only candidate who has actually studied Economic Theory.

Unless the Republican Party wakes up to reality we are doomed.  The economy is collapsing and most Americans know it.  George W. Bush can laugh all he wants and put band-aids on the problem by sending everyone a $600 check and have Bernanke cut interest rates yet again, but that will not work and most people know it.  The fact is we are in debt, in debt to our enemies no less.  We spend billions of dollars fighting an unconstitutional war in Iraq, which has led to even more Al-Qaida problems in the Middle East.  We never finished the job in Afghanistan and now we keep borrowing trillions of dollars from foreigners to continue a war with troops we do not even have.  The American Dollar is worthless and inflation is rampant; the cost of oil has risen from $27 a barrel at the start of the war in Iraq to nearly $100 today.  This must stop!  Hillary’s economic plan is apparently inspired by Mary Poppins’ bottomless purse.  Do you really want to risk a bureaucratic nightmare of “mandatory” Universal Healthcare in which the entire country will be standing in line to see doctors they do not know while Hillary is singing “A Spoonful of Sugar Will Make the Medicine Go Down?”  Wake up!

Dr. Ron Paul is the only Presidential Candidate who has a real plan to bring our country back on course.  He believes in a strong National Defense, but opposes any offensive wars of aggression.  He has consistently opposed the abolition of the Gold Standard that has led to our current crisis of massive inflation and the devaluation of the American Dollar.  He understands that the only way to protect our country from attack and the loss of our sovereignty is to strengthen our borders.  He is a vocal advocate of upholding our Rights to free speech and expression and the right of individual citizens to bare arms.

Ron Paul will immediately cut taxes across the board.  This will allow Americans to keep their hard-earned money in their own pockets and spend it how they want.  He will end all government subsidies to Big Businesses that close up shop here and move oversees.  He will end subsidies to oil companies because that is impeding our ability to become energy independent.  By not subsidizing Big Oil and Big Industries such as Halliburton, smaller, energy efficient alternative small businesses will be able to compete on the Free Market, thereby making us energy independent and creating new jobs that will help us diminish Global Warming at the same time.  Ron Paul will immediately end the monopoly of the Federal Reserve that has allowed unscrupulous individuals, politicians, and corporations to manipulate the value of the Dollar.  Ron Paul will allow Hard Currency, Gold and Silver, to compete as a legitimate form of currency against paper “Fiat” money that is currently worthless.  This will enable the American economy to get back on its feet without devolving into chaos.

National Defense:  Ron Paul has consistently voted for a domestic anti-missile defense shield.  This will protect Americans, here on our own soil, from missile attacks.  Ronald Reagan’s “Star Wars” are no longer a dream, as modern technology has finally caught up and right now a mere $40 million is going towards real national defense: at JFK International Airport a Laser Missile Defense Protective Shield, “Skyguard,” that can detect and shoot down short and long-range and supersonic missiles is being installed.  We probably spend that amount of money in one week just feeding all of the troops we have around the world.  Our Federal Government has one primary responsibility: to defend the United States from attack.  If it only costs $40 million dollars and no loss of American lives to secure JFK, then there is no excuse for any politician to tell us that we must be anywhere else in the world.  Best of all, this defense system is built by Northrop Grumman, so local jobs are created at the same time.

Bring our Troops home:  Our troops are being used as cannon-fodder in an attempt to force other countries to “democratize” via the barrel of a gun.  That does not now, nor ever has worked.  The United States is not an Imperial Empire, we are a Republic, and it is high time our government starts representing the citizens of the United States of America, and stops interfering in the sovereignty of foreign nations.  By bringing most, if not all, of our troops home, foreigners will not look upon us with disdain for invading and controlling their countries.  This will also save us TRILLIONS of dollars a year, money that we never had in the first place, but borrowed from other nations, such as China, who are far from our allies.  Instead of bolstering up foreign economies our troops will be stationed at bases here, on American soil where they will be spending their money in local American economies, thereby bolstering consumer spending.

The other candidates claim that Ron Paul’s anti-Iraq War stance will leave us vulnerable to attack; they are dead wrong.  The truth is Ron Paul actually has the strongest record on National Defense.  A Ron Paul Presidency would be very much like Ronald Reagan’s presidency.  They both advocate a strong domestic military force: Peace through Strength.  That means not attacking our enemies when we are not attacked, but ensuring that we are strong and able to defend ourselves here at home.  Today we are weaker than we ever have been in our history.  We already owe Trillions of dollars for the War in Iraq; we are sending wounded, yes wounded, troops back over to fight in Iraq because this war has become so unpopular over here that we cannot recruit enough new soldiers.  All the other candidates, on both sides, are threatening war with Iran.  Do you want your children to be drafted in order to continue all of these wars?  Is that what a Free country should do?

I urge you, my fellow Republicans, to join with all true Conservatives to take back our Party from the usurpers!  Unite to defend our nation from the ultimate destruction that shall befall our nation under the wrathful hand of Hillary!

Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate who can unite Republicans and Independents; all the other Republicans are divisive NeoCON war-mongers who will split the Party and usher in defeat.  If you do not think that is enough to keep many Republicans at home on Election Day in November, well, don’t be surprised when the 2008 Presidential Election goes the way of the local and state elections of 2006 and 2007.

Hillary vs. Rudy McRomnebee:  The GOP gets dealt its final blow.

Hillary vs. Ron Paul:  The Clinton Machine goes down in flames!

As Benjamin Franklin said “A Republic, if you can keep it.”

Democratic republics are not merely founded upon the consent of the people, they are also absolutely dependent upon the active and informed involvement of the people for their continued good health.” - Dr. Richard Beeman, Vice Chairman of The National Constitution Center’s Distinguished Scholars Advisory Panel.

How the GOP is Deliberately Controlling the 2008 Election Through Voter Fraud

How the GOP is Deliberately Controlling the 2008 Election Through Voter Fraud

By Natalie Schultz

It is a well-known fact that for over a year now Republican strategists had been arming themselves for a Rudy Giuliani Vs. Hillary Clinton campaign fight.  Then suddenly, in the early summer of 2007 two monkey wrenches were thrown into their ultimate plan:  Barack Obama and Ron Paul.  The GOP never saw this coming.  Hillary was the inevitable nominee of the Democratic Party just as Rudy was for the Republican Party.

But the American People had other plans, and after the first few debates two unknowns, one an inexperienced African American Senator, the other a rogue Conservative Libertarian Congressman known as “Dr. No” for always voting for the Constitution, changed everything.  This was the worst scenario for the GOP.  Both of these party-crashers gained popular support for their anti-war stance.  Hillary was easy to beat, as 45% of the country absolutely hated her already; and Giuliani was the 9/11 candidate, who could argue against him?

Well, suddenly the GOP didn’t know who the Democrats would nominate, and a member of their own Party shot down everything the Republican Party had come to be and sent out a rally-cry through all the circles of disgruntled Republicans and Conservatives and Libertarians and young voters who had all but given up on the election process.  What to do?  Well, starting a race-war among the Democrats would surely help in some way or another.  But on the Republican side, a new strategy was needed: Mike Huckabee!  Who?  You know, the unknown Baptist Minister from Arkansas with not a conservative credential to his name.  You see, Ron Paul had the anti-war vote on the Right, just as Dennis Kucinich had it on the Left; no point in trying to counteract that except to have all the other Republicans declare war on the entire world.  But Ron Paul had the support of the Christian Conservatives and home-schoolers as well; he was the only person who had a perfect record on home-school Rights.  Without the Religious Right the Republican Party loses half its base, so that amnesty-loving, tax-raising, patron saint of the NEA Governor from Arkansas suddenly had one single attribute that the GOP could exploit:  He was a bona-fide Baptist Minister.  And BOOM!  It worked.

Out of nowhere, all the debate moderators shot questions about the Bible and evolution towards Mike Huckabee, and rise to the occasion he did.  This started during the third Republican debate, hosted by CNN, the one after the FOX News debate that sent shockwaves across the world after Ron Paul and Rudy Giuliani went at each other’s throats over the illegal Iraq War.  Ron Paul was totally ignored during that CNN debate.  I know because I wrote about it; the title was “Mike Huckabee Won, Ron Paul was Ignored, CNN Lost.”  At the time my criticism was two-fold 1) Ron Paul was totally ignored 2) Huckabee’s theological response was superbly rendered, however, why was the question ever asked?  CNN turned that debate into a theological mockery of our election process.  Granted, at the time I did not realize why.

20/20 hindsight is a powerful, yet useless gift.  I am writing this now, as New Hampshire is re-counting both the Republican and Democrat ballots due to major discrepancies between hand-counted and machine-counted ballots.  I do not expect the re-count to prove voter fraud, even though based on hand-counted votes Obama should have come in first place and Ron Paul in either 3rd or 4th.  I already know that ‘somehow’, the ballot boxes that left their locations sealed, arrived at the re-count locations with their seals broken.  So, even though in New Hampshire there is a paper trail, it really doesn’t matter if along the road someone can just open the box and alter the contents.  I applaud Dennis Kucinich and Albert Howard for standing up for Voter’s Rights, and I commend all the Voter’s Rights organizations who came to New Hampshire to oversee the re-count; however with a total cost of over $100,000 to their campaigns as it is, there just is not enough money or man-power to truly watch over the entire process.  Those who are determined to manipulate the votes will be able to do so, no matter how hard we try to fight them.

The reason I am writing this, however, is because of the blatant voter fraud that the GOP is presently engaging in, this time in Nevada.  The Nevada caucuses are being held today, the same day as the Republican primary in South Carolina.  Most Republican candidates have opted to ignore Nevada to focus on South Carolina, as that is a very important state for the GOP.  The only candidates who have actively campaigned in Nevada are Ron Paul and Mitt Romney, as both have a strong base there.  Nevada has a large Mormon population, so that helps Romney, but overall the state is fairly libertarian and detests the IRS and the Federal Reserve, and that is why Ron Paul is popular there.  So, with the GOP’s most-favored candidates back East, there is no harm in throwing the entire Nevada caucus system into chaos, right?

Why would the Nevada GOP want to screw things up for Mitt Romney, you may ask?  Well, that is what finally made me see the entire GOP election scheme in High-Definition.  Let’s go back to early 2007: The top-tier GOP candidates were Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney and John McCain.  The GOP was NOT behind McCain back then because they believed that his pro-Amnesty Comprehensive Immigration Reform Bill, co-sponsored by Ted Kennedy, would send most Republicans running for cover.  So, at the time it was really between Giuliani and Romney.  The truth is, as I stated at the beginning, the GOP was praying for a Rudy vs. Hillary campaign fight.  Mitt Romney was essentially a rouse that the GOP gathered around in an attempt to seem “open-minded” towards Mormons, as well as they couldn’t just appoint Giuliani Commander-in-Chief without at least making it seem like he competed against other Republicans to earn the nomination.  The problems for the GOP became obvious after the first three debates; there was no solid support for any of the candidates.  Romney was a Mormon, Giuliani was pro-choice, McCain was pro-Amnesty.  The leaders of the Religious Right didn’t help things, as each of them endorsed a different candidate for a different reason.

Republican voters revolted and waged a “Draft Fred Thompson” campaign.  Eventually, Thompson jumped in, but even with all the pomp-and-circumstance surrounding him, his campaign deflated faster than a balloon stuck to a donkey at a child’s birthday party.  So, Good ‘Ole Fred being a dud, conservatives heeded the Preacher’s call from the pulpit and rallied around Mike Huckabee.  Now, let’s be honest, Huckabee has as much a chance of becoming President in November as does Santa Claus.  So, after Iowa Huckabee replaced Mitt Romney as the rouse to get Giuliani nominated.  Huckabee, however, proved to be even more useful than Romney, since Romney’s rhetorical skills were lacking and he always came off looking like a flip-flopper.  Huckabee’s rhetorical skills, honed behind the pulpit, allowed his lies to come off as truths.  So, he is now running as the anti-tax, anti-Illegal, pro-home-school candidate, even though as Governor of Arkansas he was more liberal than his predecessor, Bill Clinton.  Huckabee not only raised taxes every chance he got, he increased spending, gave illegal immigrants college scholarships, and he even limited the Rights of home-schoolers.  Mike Huckabee was the keynote speaker at the 2007 NEA National Convention, yet the home-school community rallied around him and left the true defender of home-school Rights, Ron Paul, in the dust.

This impressed the GOP so much that they were able to turn his incredible lack of foreign policy experience around by assigning two of the most elite Globalization specialists, John Bolton and Richard Hass, as his Foreign Policy Advisors.  We all know who John Bolton is, however it is Richard Hass, President of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), that is the real kicker.  Granted, even Mitt Romney has William Weld, a member of the CFR Task Force to create a North American Union, as co-chairman of his New York campaign; but as I said, Romney is old news, particularly in light of the fact that he is a panderer, going which ever way the wind blows.  The NeoCONs in the GOP cannot trust him to do as they say, especially since Tom Tancredo and Bay Buchanan had a long meeting with him and apparently convinced him to do away with any notions of amnesty.  The fact is, Huckabee’s exquisite ability to persuade the Masses is now being used as a tactical weapon to subliminally instill a pro-war, pro-globalization agenda into the minds of the least suspecting citizens of America.  So, while the press questions why Huckabee is preaching about changing the Constitution to adhere more to Christianity, the GOP is so happy they are peeing in their pants, knowing that all the Evangelicals are falling at his feet, because in his next sermon he will be preaching that it is God’s will that America give up its sovereignty and form a union with Mexico and Canada, and finally unite with the European Union as a Global Empire.  No, Huckabee will not be our next President, but he has, unwittingly, sown the seeds of the demise of the United States of America in the hearts of every Evangelical Christian in this country.  For that, the NeoCONs of the GOP and their cohorts of the Progressive New-Left will be eternally grateful.

The GOP has learned three important lessons during this campaign 1) You can convince the Evangelicals to believe anything as long as it is wrapped in Biblical verse.  2) Giuliani’s campaign strategy must go down in the record books as the worst ever.

3) Americans truly are ignorant, as the majority claims to be against the Iraq War, and yet those are the very people voting for McCain.

So, Rudy and his CFR Dream Team have pretty much proven themselves to be incompetent at campaigning on a national level.  The truth is, Rudy’s message is equally as bad.  Honestly, as a New Yorker, I was all for Rudy in the beginning.  As Mayor he was brilliant.  His speeches were no-holds-barred, tell it like it is.  He truly did turn NYC around by cutting taxes and reducing crime and cleaning up the streets.  But after 9/11 he totally lost it.  Seriously, I think he went insane.  All he talks about is War, War, War!  His Senior Foreign Policy Advisor is Norman Podhoretz, the staunch ‘Israel First’ CFR member who wrote “The Case for Bombing Iran” and “World War IV: How It Started, What It Means, and Why We Have to Win” (apparently I missed WWIII).  Even Rudy’s economic plan is absurd; in the TV ad I saw he touts giving major tax cuts to corporations.  Sorry, but the People need tax cuts, and we need to stop supporting corporations who off-shore jobs with subsidies and tax breaks.  Rudy has totally lost it.

I predict that the GOP NeoCON Oligarchy are going to rally around McCain.  He has already said that he intends to stay in Iraq for at least 100 more years, and that he would have attacked Iraq even if he knew there were no WMD.  This is exactly what they want, they just never believed the American public would go for it; obviously they (as well as I) underestimated the People.

McCain’s pro-Amnesty agenda is still a sticking point for many Republican voters, which is why the GOP must make sure Hillary is the Democrat nominee.  If it comes down to Obama vs. McCain, the GOP knows that a lot of Republicans will just stay home, especially since McCain got the Independent votes, not the Republican votes. They are betting that no matter who the GOP nominates, as long as Hillary is the opponent, Republican turn-out will be strong.  The GOP is relying on Anti-Hillary sentiment to win the November election.  That is why, I believe, they are not only messing with Republican ballots, but Democrat ballots as well.

So, what happened in Nevada?  This is the letter that the Ron Paul campaign sent to the Nevada GOP after receiving information from supporters that they had been mailed incorrect caucus locations:

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA – Today, the Ron Paul 2008 campaign is calling on the Nevada State Republican Party to re-examine multiple inconsistencies in the Nevada Caucus process, and to consider postponing the caucus, which is scheduled for Saturday, January 19.

“The inconsistencies, errors and multiple changes in the rules reek of playing politics with the what should be a neutral process,” said Ron Paul 2008 campaign manager Lew Moore.  “The people of Nevada deserve to know exactly what the rules are and to know that those rules are being fairly enforced.  This has not happened up to this point, and the caucus appears to be in chaos.”

The problem of multiple rule changes is being compounded by other inconsistencies and errors in the process.  Many Nevada Republicans have received postcards with incorrect information about their caucus location, and the Nevada GOP website had incorrect caucus locations listed as late as Wednesday, January 16.

Additionally, one or more county chairs have expressed concerns over an insufficient number of ballots, and the Ron Paul campaign has heard reports that rural counties are short of ballots, while Clark County precincts were given what is regarded as far too many ballots.

The Ron Paul campaign has learned that the Nevada Republican Party has changed the rules for eligibility requirements for caucusing three times since January 9.  Last summer when the January 19 caucus was set, the Nevada GOP announced that caucus would be closed and only for Republicans who had registered by December 19.

On January 10, 2008, a caucus director for the Nevada Republican Party reversed the earlier policy  and anounced a new standard by stating that any person who asserts that they are a registered Republican in the precinct but cannot be found in the voter rolls that the Republican party has, would be able to participate if they signed an affidavit attesting to the fact that they were a registered Republican.  Then, on January 15 the Ron Paul campaign received communication from the state party that the affidavits would not be used.

However, on January 17 the policy was changed for a third time, as the state party announced that affidavits would be in use throughout the state, subject to the discretion of county central committees and chairs.

The Nevada Republican Party is changing the rules from week to week, and currently the rules will not even be uniform across the state, as eligibility rules may differ from county to county.

Given the caucus location confusion – with potential caucus participants not knowing where to go – and the new rule effectively allowing anyone to get a ballot, the Ron Paul campaign is concerned that the confusion surrounding the caucus will both disenfranchise voters and make the election particularly susceptible to vote fraud.

The response from the Nevada State GOP, according to the Boston Globe article ‘Nevada GOP Dismisses Paul Complaint’ was “We would hope that the Paul campaign would go act like adults and not try to set up straw men to make up for their lack of organizing.”

Straw men?  Hello, the Nevada State GOP sent out the wrong information, not the Paul campaign.  In fact, it was the Paul campaign, which is in fact quite organized in Nevada, that caught the discrepancies.  The discrepancies were obvious, as it told voters from one county to caucus in another county.  One would assume that every Republican voter received the same misinformation, unless that is, Big Brother GOP somehow knows exactly which Nevada residents are going to vote for Paul.  So, either there truly is a conspiracy and the GOP sent the wrong information only to Paul supporters and the correct information to everyone else, or they did in fact screw up!  Either way, the Nevada State GOP is in direct violation of Voter’s Rights by not at least apologizing for and correcting the wrong information.  Over 57 precincts in Las Vegas were directed to the wrong caucus locations.  The Paul campaign informed the Nevada GOP of the problem by phone on Jan. 14, but the State website was not even updated until 6pm on Jan 16, two days before the caucuses.  Additionally, the charges that some counties did not receive enough ballots are by far legitimate and must be addressed.  Why would the rural counties be short-changed ballots?  That is a direct violation of the Voter Rights Act.

Then there is the problem of changing the voting rules three times right up to two days before the election.  Initially the caucuses were closed to only registered Republicans.  Then, on Jan. 10 the State GOP decided that anyone could vote in the caucuses, as long as they sign an affidavit saying they are Republican.  Then on Jan. 15 they decided against this, and then on Jan. 17 the GOP said that the affidavits could be used, but it will be up to the discretion of county chairs.  How can each county make their own decision on the day of the caucus?  That obviously is a deliberate tactic to base who can and cannot vote on the results of polls.  Why else would each county be able to do its own thing?

Why would the GOP want non-Republicans caucusing anyway?  Signing an affidavit that says you are a Republican, even though the registry does not show that is ludicrous.  There is no way to go back and decide which votes were cast by people who lied on their affidavit.  The whole point, in my opinion, was to get the Latinos to caucus for McCain.  And, now that I think about it, this absurd rule means that Democrats could caucus twice – once for the Republicans, by signing a false affidavit, and then as a Democrat, since the caucuses are held at separate times.

Why would Republicans want Latinos to caucus for McCain?  Because, according to the Latino commentator on Lou Dobbs, most Latinos are Democrats, but they also like McCain, and they don’t like that the Democrats take their vote for granted.  After the last MSNBC Democrats debate (the one without Kucinich) the Latino man at the post-debate forum said that the Latinos were all for Hillary.  He hinted that they would not vote for Obama, although he would not say why even when pushed by the reporter and a black woman.  Then Obama’s people released an ad aimed at Latino workers telling them that Hillary’s campaign was trying to prevent them from voting by filing a lawsuit against casino caucuses.  So, since the Nevada GOP only changed the rules to allow non-Republicans to caucus after all this went down, it seems that they were betting that a lot of Latinos would cross the line to get back at Hillary by voting for McCain.

We shall se how all this will turn out, however, I do believe that there should be a law that says the rules must be set in stone within a specific time-frame, so that the two Ruling Parties cannot just arbitrarily change the rules two days in advance of a primary or caucus.

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!  The results are coming in:  Ron Paul came in SECOND!!!!!!!!   BACKFIRE, BABY!!!  Ron Paul got 63% of the Independent vote!!!!!!!!  Romney only got 53% of the Republican vote.   Oh, WOW, I love the stupidity of the GOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE INDEPENDENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I Love you Lou Dobbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

INDEPENDENTS DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Exit Polls:      % of vote:

Voters:           Romney   McCain   Paul

Rep. 84% >      53%         12%         11%    >  top 3 get 76% of Rep. votes

Ind. 14% >       10%          11%         63%   >  top 3 get 84% of Ind. votes

Dem. 2%

Total % of votes = % Ind + % Rep = Total%  (if Ind% Includes Dems = 16%)

Romney - Ind: 1.4% + Rep. 44.52 = 45.92%  (46.12%)

McCain - Ind: 1.54% + Rep. 10.08 = 11.62%  (11.76%)

Paul - Ind: 8.82% + Rep. 9.24 = 18.06%  (19.32%)

OH NO!  Ok I take that back – the GOP is really slick.  The actual results are way off from the exit polls.  It is not mathematically possible that the final results are so far off from the exit polls.  Even giving a 5% margin of error, the final results are way off.

Why? Washoe County.

Exit polls:  Romney 37%,  Paul 31%,  McCain 10%  (top 3 total = 78%)

Final report:  Romney 44%,  McCain 16%, Paul 15%  (top 3 total = 75%)

This cannot be possible; this is way beyond any margin of error.  How can Romney gain 7%, McCain gain 6%, and Paul LOSE 16%?

Ok, the top 3 candidates lost a combined total of 3% of votes between the exit polls and the final tally; that is totally legitimate.  However, it does not explain the extreme discrepancy between vote gains and loses between the candidates.

Mathematically this perfectly equates to Paul losing his 16% to the combined gains of Romney (7), McCain (6) and the extra 3% exactly.  6+7+3=16!

How can Paul be the ONLY candidate to lose votes?!?!?!?!?

How can this happen?  Based on a message from a Nevada voter, I think I figured it out.  Apparently he went in and people were given a choice between just filling out a ballot and leaving or going on to participate in the caucus.  Even though he was a Registered Republican, he was not allowed to participate in the caucus because they did not have his registration on record.

Based on this occurrence, I must deduce that all those people who voted via a ballot, but not in the actual caucus did not have their votes counted.  This person asked us about the legality of the polling place having a Mitt Romney poster in the window and the announcer wearing a Romney shirt.  I cannot say what the law is in Nevada, but I know that is illegal in my district in NY.  So, since all the Paul supporters are rather obvious, it would be very easy to make the non-caucus votes disappear.  This person looked at all the cars and estimated that 1 in 8 had a Ron Paul bumper sticker.

Honestly, it should be illegal to allow some people to just cast a ballot and then leave, while others participate in the caucus, because, like this person said, it was chaos.  There was a line a half-mile long to enter through one door, and only 6 people checking people in.  This is the easiest way to commit voter fraud, as the poll watchers can deliberately direct certain voters towards a specific box, and then when the caucus starts just get rid of those ballots when no one is paying attention.  The caucused votes cannot be cheated as easily, since there are too many witnesses, which explains why Iowa worked out so much differently than either New Hampshire or Nevada for both Parties.

If the exit polls reflect votes cast by people who were not allowed to caucus, then this scenario seems to offer a glaring explanation for the discrepancies between the results, especially considering that Ron Paul received a whopping 63% of the Independent vote.  If this happened at many caucus locations, that Independents were allowed to cast a ballot but not caucus, then the only truth to be gleaned from the Nevada Caucuses is that yes, Ron Paul does have a lot of support, but those votes were not counted because the GOP lied to the public when they kept flip-flopping on the rules.

Oh, wow!  Not that I am surprised, but MSNBC has now even changed their exit polling data!  Well, too bad for them, because I saved the original page to my computer!  I started writing this last night, and I have been watching the polls continuously all day.  Good thing.  My data comes from the afternoon – when MSNBC announced Ron Paul as coming in second based on exit polls.  All the data that was reported on TV was also online.  It has now been “adjusted.”  You cannot “adjust” exit polls to fit the final tally.

This is the original tally of the candidates based on Republican, Independent and Democrat voters soon after the caucuses were over:

No matter which caucus you attend today, do you usually think of yourself as a:

So, all of a sudden, about 8 hours later, once the discrepancies were glaringly obvious:

The Independent vote decreases by 2 and the Republican vote increases by 2.

Huckabee gains 1 Republican vote and 3 Independent votes.

Hunter gains 2 Independent votes.

McCain gains 1 Republican vote and 2 Independent votes.

Paul LOSES 4 Republican votes and LOSES 12 Independent votes.

Romney gains 4 Republican votes and gains 2 Independent votes.

Thompson gains 2 Independent votes.

That’s it, I give up!  I can’t even write anymore I’m so upset.  This entire country is a SHAM!  GO TO HELL Jane Harmon!  You should be prosecuted under your “Extremist Beliefs Commission” for outward violation of the United States Constitution!  There is plenty of room available in your newly built domestic Halliburton detention centers for the entire criminal, terrorist organization known as the United States Executive, Legislative and Judiciary branches.  Susan Collins, I hope you lose your Senate seat to Tom Allen!

After the abhorrent treatment of the press towards Duncan Hunter and Ron Paul I considered leaving the Republican Party.  The utter disregard for the last vestiges of true Conservatism in the Republican Party are a testament as to why they have all, all but Ron Paul that is, resigned their seats this past year.  Hagel, Warner, Hunter… the list goes on.  Well guess what America?  You are going to face the consequences that this void has left.  You are soon going to learn what it’s like to be treated like an “Axis of Evil” and how life in Guantanamo is.  WAKE UP, you IDIOTS!

Do you even know about National Intelligence Director Mike McConnell’s Cyber-Security Policy that will enable warrant-less internet and email surveillance?  What about the Supreme Court refusing to hear the case We The People vs. United States?  That would have guaranteed us the right to petition the government for redress of grievances against us; but the Supreme Court sided with Big Brother and denied We the People our Rights.  What about the ‘Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act’ that overturns the constitutionally guaranteed rights to free expression, association, and assembly?

GO To HELL!!!  ALL of YOU!

FOX News Deleted Debate Segment Documented for Posterity

FOX News Deleted Debate Segment Documented for Posterity

By Natalie Schultz

This post is my attempt at not allowing censorship to toss truth down the Memory Hole.

This regards the sudden (albeit not surprising) attempt by FOX News to eradicate an entire segment of the January 10, 2008 South Carolina debate.

When the debate first aired live, there was no censorship, but then, when FOX News re-broadcast the debate, they edited out an entire response from Ron Paul.  Ron Paul’s response was to an attempted ‘trick’ question by FOX News asking if he was “electable” in a Republican primary.

Realizing that when it was re-broadcast, this entire segment, a segment that was among the most memorable, if not climactic debate moments, had been completely edited-out, someone posted it to YouTube and Digg.

This was originally posted to www.digg.com at ~ 9:30am Friday Jan. 11, 2008.

Then, at some point during the day, FOX News had YouTube remove the video.  Nevertheless many more copies popped up, but there is a heavily invested “search and destroy” mission going on as we speak.

So, in the interest of upholding the Freedom of Information Act, and, of course, in the interest of being “Fair and Balanced” I have taken the liberty of documenting the these occurrences in a time-line fashion.  And then I transcribed the doubleplusgoodcrimethink right here for all to read.

CHEERS!

A post within reads:
http://www.newscorrupt.com (NewsCorp) has the video and won't be taking it down.

This is the video that I used for the transcript.  BTW: newscorrupt is NOT actually NewsCorp.

As you can see / hear, Ron Paul receives overwhelming applause for his response.

So, what was FOX trying to hide?  Well, they didn’t exactly ‘snag’ Paul with the question of elect-ability:

Cameron:  “Congressman Paul, you get another question on electability:  Do you have any sir?  [laughter]  There is always the question as to whether or not you are viable. [another candidate laughs sarcastically (I think it was Rudy – sounded like him and he was right next to Paul)]  Your differences with the rest of the Republicans on this stage has raised questions as to whether or not you can actually win the General, uh, Republican nomination, sir?”

Ron Paul’s response (transcribed from the closed-captioning) (same as what was said):

“Well, we have only had two little primaries so far, so it’s pretty premature to decide which one is going to be the candidate.

But, you know, when you think about it, if you measured everything I have ever said, every vote I have ever taken against the Constitution, I’m a strict Constitutionalist.

Are you suggesting the Republicans should write me off because I’m a

strict Constitutionalist?

I’m the most Conservative member here.

I have voted against more spending and waste in government than anybody else. (applause)

So you are suggesting that I’m not electable and the Republicans don’t want me?

Because I’m a strict fiscal Conservative?

Because I believe in civil liberties?

Why should we not be defending civil liberties?

Why should we not be talking about foreign policy that used to be the part of the Republican Party?

Mr. Republican Robert Taft didn’t even want us to be in NATO and you are saying now that we have to continue to borrow money from China to finance this Empire that we can’t afford?

Let me see if I get this right.

We need to borrow $10 Billion from China and then we give it to Musharraf who is a military dictator who overthrew an elected government and then we go to war, we lose all these lives promoting democracy in Iraq.  I mean, what’s going on here? [cheers and applause] (ROARING cheers and applause)

And you are saying that this isn’t appealing to Republicans?

Where did this come about?

I think this is a Republican message.

I defend the platform.

It Used to say get rid of the Department of Education.

It doesn’t say that now.

We as Republicans went and doubled the size of the Department of Education.

So where have we gone?

I think we have lost our way.

Then the insinuation that I am less Republican because of that?”  (Bell; cheers and applause)

Total time 2:16 minutes (including the question being asked)

I don’t think that it was Ron Paul’s response that made FOX News try to have this debate segment eradicated from the internet, rather I believe it was the enthusiastic response of the audience to his comment on borrowing billions from China to build up a military dictator who overthrew a democracy in Pakistan, only to send Americans to be killed in an attempt to democratize Iraq.

The cheers and applause were very loud and robust!

NOT what FOX News was expecting, nor what they wanted to hear.

So, here it is, just incase FOX decides to invade the civil liberties of http://www.newscorrupt.com and unconstitutionally have this video removed.

I just spent way too long typing it all out for you!

Group Mentality Will Gouge the GOP

Group Mentality Will Gouge the GOP

By Natalie Schultz

Tonight, after the FOX News South Carolina debate, Frank Luntz had his select group of Republican voters in a room and he asked them who performed the best and worst.  Most people believed Fred Thompson did the best, but a bunch of them shouted that Ron Paul did the worst.  What is interesting is that when Mr. Luntz then asked them to raise their hands if they believed that Ron Paul did the worst, most hands shot right up, except for one young woman in the front row, who looked around her and then slowly raised her hand and shrugged her shoulders.

Not for nothing, but it must be noted that Ron Paul received the same amount of applause towards his answers as did any of the other candidates.  So, it must be asked, how did FOX News choose those select 28 Republican voters to sit in that special room to watch the debate?  Perhaps they used a questionnaire and only selected the respondents who believed that continuing the War in Iraq was their most important concern.  Later, when Mr. Luntz asked the group if they believed that Ron Paul should have been included in the debate, almost all of them said yes.  So, obviously they at least felt that Ron Paul added a legitimate, albeit different, viewpoint to the debate.  Then, of course, Hannity and Colmes interviewed each candidate individually except for Ron Paul (Colmes did note that Paul was invited, but declined.  I don’t blame him).

When Ron Paul warned of unjustified war with Iran, the focus group gave a very negative response.  Well, guess what, 75% of the country does NOT want to go to war with Iran.  So, FOX’s focus group is totally out of touch with the rest of America.  Luntz then said that the group wants a “true conservative” Republican.  Well, what he really means is NeoCon Republican, because, the most respected “true” Conservative in our country, Patrick J. Buchanan, has always been totally against the war.  I love how no Republican pundits ever attack Pat, in fact they all respect him, yet they all attack Ron Paul, even though Pat Buchanan and Ron Paul agree on just about everything, from taxes, to immigration, to foreign policy.

Honestly, I do not believe that most Americans take FOX News seriously anymore.  The Democrats refuse to participate in any FOX debates, the new FOX Business Channel has been trounced for false news stories, and just the other day CNN’s Paul Begala flipped out because FOX News reported that he was joining Hillary Clinton’s campaign staff.  Begala emailed FOX’s Major Garrett many times telling him that the news was false, that he has not and will not join Hillary’s campaign, yet Major Garrett continued to report the story on the air and even told Begala that he had a very reliable source.  A reliable source?  The man himself sent him at least three emails saying that it was all a lie and that every other news and media outlet had contacted him after they heard FOX’s story, and none of them went with the story because it was a lie.

A great video is on You Tube where FOX’s Carl Cameron is interviewing Ron Paul about how he feels about FOX’s coverage of him.  Cameron: “Is the media treating you fair? … You know a lot of the candidates want to cut you off the debate stage.”  And then Cameron asks if FOX is giving Paul a fair shake: Paul jokingly says “Well, I wish you would be more fair and balanced” and Cameron responds “Don’t we all!”  I think that says it all.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPRzlejFx8M&

Why should Republicans care if Democrats ignore FOX News?  Because, if Republicans are truly relying on FOX News to get a feel for the upcoming general election, well, they are screwing themselves.  Granted, I think most liberal Democrats are loons who believe that money grows on trees and that it is their job to harvest all that money and give it away to the poor.  Democrats have never been known for understanding economic or fiscal policy, however, over the past few years, and at all of the debates, the Republicans obviously don’t get it either.  The majority of general election voters are Independents, and they know that our economy stinks.

We are in a recession, and only artificially low interest rates are stopping the crash.  Unfortunately, that has made the Dollar virtually worthless.  As the government continues to borrow money from China to fund the war, it increases our national debt, and once no one will buy up anymore of our debt, we are dead in the water.  Now, even American banks have been going abroad to get bailed out, so we don’t even own our American financial institutions.  Ron Paul is the only Republican willing to admit that we are in a recession, and he is the only one willing to truly fix the economy.

I want the Republican Party to WAKE UP and realize how the American People feel, because if we don’t the Democrats are going to win and turn this country into a Socialist Dictatorship.  And, we will still be bankrupt.

Many well-respected Conservative Republicans have left the Party already.  True Conservatives have fled with Pat Buchanan and don’t read The Weekly Standard, but The American Conservative instead.  Many Republicans, both moderate and Conservative, watch CNN’s Lou Dobbs and have jumped onto his anti-Two-Party “Independents” bandwagon.  Of course, MSNBC, the thorn in the side of O’Reilly, has both Pat and Tucker Carlson, two of the original Conservative pundits.  Even the McLaughlin Group, during their 2007 Year-End Awards named Ron Paul ‘Most Original Thinker’, ‘Capitalist of the Year’ and ultimately ‘Person of the Year’ for “Injecting the Presidential campaign with a dose of truth serum for his straight talk on Iraq, his straight talk on the Constitution and limits of government … Paul has become an independent force in the nation’s life.”
Let’s be honest here, all of these sources are well-known Conservatives, and they find all of the other Republican candidates severely lacking any real Conservative credentials.  So, FOX may have controlled the scene during the Bush administration, but those days are waning and Republicans are in serious trouble, seeing as only Ron Paul has the respect of both the young ‘internet generation’ and the old establishment Conservative network media.  And don’t forget all of those Libertarians who willingly disenfranchised themselves years ago; Ron Paul’s campaign finally convinced them to re-join the Republican Party.  Yes, all you NeoCon Republican newbies, most Libertarians originally were Republicans.

Oh, BTW FOX News, Frank Luntz was reprimanded in 1997 by the American Association for Public Opinion Research and censured in 2000 by the National Council on Public Polls for skewing research results to reflect more favorably on specific clients.   In an interview this year Luntz even redefined the term ‘Orwellian’ as a positive form of speech!  War is Peace.  Slavery is Freedom.  Ignorance is Strength.

So, here’s to you FOX News, you doubleplusungood Duckspeakers!

Reason to Be Optimistic

Reason to Be Optimistic

By Natalie Schultz

As far as primaries go, Iowa and New Hampshire do not truly represent the entire country.  In most states, only Republicans and Democrats can actually vote.  It was the Independent voters who swung Iowa in favor of Obama, and Independents split their votes in New Hampshire between Obama and McCain.

Why is this important?  Because, in New Hampshire it seems that die-hard Democrats prefer the status-quo of the Clintons, and apparently the Republicans and Independents are still very pro-war as well. When polled on the actual issues, Republican voters chose Romney hands-down over McCain.  So, why would Independents and some Republicans choose McCain?  According to polls, it is his personality and Vietnam experience.  Obviously, with his flip-flopper reputation, Romney loses the personality battle.

The most glaring observation in New Hampshire is that with 95% of the votes tallied more than 275,000 voters turned out for Democrats, compared to a 220,000 turnout for Republicans.  What this shows is that the Democrats have come out in record numbers.  This is important because it shows that Americans just want a change.

Yes, America does want change.  However, I do not believe that America wants to become a mirror image of the Socialist dictatorship that has become the European Union.  The problem with politics, and this reflects our failure in education, is that no one actually analyses any of the issues from the perspective of the actual citizens.  I have; I know first-hand that the majority of European People are furious with their government.  Tensions in Europe are reeling from unencumbered immigration, but the politicians shut the People right down.  Most European countries do not have the Freedom of Speech, the great exception being Denmark.  When a few countries actually allowed the citizens to vote in a referendum on the European Union Constitution, all of those countries: France, the Netherlands and Spain voted a resounding NO!  What did the politicians do?  They said, OK, no more referendums; no more letting the People have a voice in government.

Do we really want America to end up in that position?  We are rapidly heading down that road.  Our most sacred document, the greatest legal document in the entire world, the Constitution of the United States of America, has slowly been eroded by irresponsible politicians who only care about wielding power over the masses, rather than doing the only thing they are legally allowed to do: represent the People.

McCain, giving his victory speech, played the “I’m a Conservative” card.  McCain, the only Republican to fly to the Left of many Democrats, has about as much fiscal discipline as Dennis Kucinich.  At least Kucinich’s liberal pro-taxation stance fits that of his Party.  At least Kucinich has true values and stands up for his values at all costs.  McCain is a backstabbing lying Arse, and true Conservative Republicans know it.  Listen, if there is one thing all Republicans can agree on, it is that the best thing Bush did was his tax cuts.  McCain was one of only two Republicans to vote against the tax cuts.  No Republican can, in good conscience, ever vote against a tax cut.  Income taxes are unconstitutional!  “We may disagree from time to time on the direction that America should head” said McCain.  What, is he insane?  Sadly, no:  the Powerful Elite want to go in one direction and the People want to go in another.  He claims to not serve his self-interest, that he only cares about his own country, yet he is the only candidate, from either side, who is willing to give away our sovereignty and form a union with Mexico, and he is the only candidate who actually admits that he wants to invade more foreign countries and keep American troops in Iraq for more than 100 years; he even admitted that he would have attacked Iraq if he knew there were no WMD.  How, please tell me, is this a way to serve the best interests of the United States?  Under the influence of McCain our country has been heading down a fast Highway to Hell!

America does want change.  We need change.  We need to, no, we absolutely must get back to the values of our Founding Fathers, we must get back to small government in which the People control our national agenda.  The country may be split on the issues between the Northeast and the Midwest, as can be seen in the clear difference in outcomes between New Hampshire and Iowa.  The reason for this is clear: The Northeast is dominated by wealthy powerful elites who are willing to send our children to war, but the majority of those recruits come from the Midwest.  The Northeast does not feel the actual pain of our war-mongering like other parts of the country do.  I am from the Northeast, from one of the most over-taxed places in the entire country.  The people of my generation are fleeing in droves because they cannot afford to pay the property taxes here.  I understand the mindset of elitist New Yorkers and New Englanders.  I hate them.  I relate to the plight of all the rural farmers and working-class people up here who have lost their farms to bankruptcy due to unfair subsidies given to industrial farmers, and good manufacturing jobs lost to China.  I hate the fact that the remaining small successful farmers here in NY are being shut down because fresh apple cider is now illegal due to unwarranted FDA regulations.  I hate the fact that in NY you have to go underground to buy contraband raw milk, and that a small farmer was arrested in Michigan for providing raw milk to his customers.  I hate the fact that in the Northeast the politicians claim to be for the environment, yet finance their campaigns through donations from developers who destroy the wilderness that we are famous for and build shoddy cookie-cutter developments that only the wealthy can afford.  I hate the fact that those of us who want to build “green” homes the way our ancestors did, homes that remain standing for hundreds of years, on our private property, are not allowed to due so because of unconstitutional building codes.  Most of all, I hate the fact that a small, but loud, minority of elites here drown out the voices of all the rural people whose ancestors actually built the cities that the elites now control.

There is no question that our economy is in shambles.  George W. Bush is the only person in this country to remain oblivious.  Today, gold hit an all-time high of $880, the first time since 1980 when it hit $875.  The problems our economy is facing today mirror that of the disastrous 1970’s stagflation.  Sadly, we still have not learned our lesson.  The causes are the same – high oil prices, tensions in the Middle East, a weak job market, and a plummeting dollar.  The only difference is that today interests rates are artificially low, whereas the 14% back then was relative to the dollar.  Today, the FED is allowing our dollar to lose its value in an attempt to stop the economy from crashing, however, the truth is that the Federal Reserve and the Federal Government are working hand-in-hand to make the dollar worthless in order to force the American People to accept a joint-currency with Mexico and Canada.  The Canadian People are against it, the American People are in the dark, and the Mexican government is pushing for it.

The only reason our economy is still floating above water is that we have borrowed trillions of dollars from foreign countries, China in particular.  Forget for a moment the disaster that will happen when no one will buy up anymore of our debt at all.  The Bush Administration has sent a large team of top economic and trade officials to China at least twice over the last two years.  What could we, with no real assets, truly have to offer the Chinese in order to convince them to continue investing in American debt?  The answer is simple: we have promised them that we will soon have one currency that will compete with the Euro; a currency that is balanced because it will be backed by three united governments – America, Canada and Mexico.

Why should I care if I pay for goods with the Amero instead of the American Dollar, you ask?  Well, because the only way to create a common currency is to create a Super-State.  Once we create one giant North American Union without borders, then all that our Founding Fathers fought for will disappear.  We will no longer have a sacred document in the form of The United States Constitution, because the United States will no longer exist.  The Declaration of Independence will be replaced by a Declaration of World Governance.  The People, all the People of the entire world, will no longer have any say in their own private lives.

All of our problems, both foreign and domestic, revolve around the state of our economy, the state of the American Dollar.  Only one candidate has even brought up the state of our economy.  Only one candidate actually understands the root of the problem.  Only one candidate has been acknowledged by economists and Wall Street as having a solid understanding of economic fundamentals.  Yes, all the Republicans are now calling for tax cuts, and yes Wall Street loves that.  But tax cuts will only do so much at this point.  Only Ron Paul has been willing to tell America WHY our economy is in shambles.  And only Ron Paul is willing to take drastic measures to restore our economy and set us free at the same time.  As long as we keep printing money with nothing to back up its value (gold), we will always be vulnerable to the whims of foreign governments.  We are currently living in a Paper Prison, and we are as vulnerable as sitting ducks.

So, why should Ron Paul supporters be optimistic?  Because the New Hampshire primary has proven that the wealthy elites in the Northeast, those who profit from manipulating paper currency and foreign wars, are all for the status-quo.  I know, the religious Conservatives have decided to go with Huckabee, even though Ron Paul is the only one who has truly defended home-school Rights.  Still, the outward religious rhetoric will only go so far; eventually Huckabee will be out, and most home-schoolers did embrace Paul in the beginning.  Besides, Ron Paul believes in the Separation of Church and State, and most Christians embrace that because they know that any government that blurs that line can backfire on them (USSR banned the Orthodox Church and then re-instated it under Communist ideology).  Most of the Religious Right also happens to be fiscally conservative, and only Ron Paul has a clean record on that front.

Ron Paul is running against a circus of candidates who don’t have a genuine Conservative bone in their bodies; if anyone of them did, then there would already be a clear front-runner.  Ron Paul has the values of real Americans at heart: Live and let live.  The Constitution guarantees us our Rights; it is the corrupt politicians who have stolen our rights from us.  Only Ron Paul wrote a bill to legalize raw milk.  Raw Milk is the perfect issue to highlight why Ron Paul stands for all the People.  Humans have been drinking raw milk since time immemorial; even Jesus drank raw milk!  Suddenly, the FDA comes along and makes raw milk illegal (although Maine and California allow it).  Wealthy elites in NYC have underground raw milk purchasing clubs; cancer patients and people with other chronic illnesses go out of their way to find natural, raw milk.  Organic dairy farmers risk arrest to provide their customers with raw milk.  And many rural, gun-totting folks wouldn’t drink anything that the government could secretly contaminate through its unconstitutional regulation.  So, you see, people from all walks of life trust grass-fed dairy cows more than they trust the federal government!

Apparently, the Iraq War has become a non-issue for all the candidates except for Ron Paul.  Democrats have turned their entire campaigns toward Universal Healthcare and increasing taxes and spending on even more government programs.  Needless to say they wouldn’t know an ounce of gold from a T-Bill.  The Republicans are still using fear-mongering and warning us of the “evil Jihadists” out to get us.  So, we are forced to choose between tales of poor children in crumbing schools and tales of desert dwellers with nukes.  Pleeeease!!!  Let’s get real!

We are facing economic collapse and the end of freedom as we know it.  Why, oh why, is no one talking about this?  Why is Ron Paul, against entitlement programs, the only candidate actually willing to pay for Social Security for our retirees and healthcare for all by simply bringing all our troops home and using all those trillions of dollars here, in America?  Why is Ron Paul the only candidate willing to use our defense budget to actually DEFEND America, here on our soil, by truly securing our borders and funding a real domestic anti-missile defense program?  Why do Republicans want to build a missile-defense system in Poland, when Iran is nowhere near Poland?  How can anyone believe that we do not intend to attack Russia?  Please, use some logic, People!

Here in my backyard, a measly $40 million is going towards real national defense: at JFK International Airport a Laser Missile Defense Protective Shield, “Skyguard,” that can detect and shoot down short and long-range and supersonic missiles is being installed.  We probably spend that amount of money in one week just feeding all of the troops we have around the world.  As a New Yorker, I am appalled at Rudy for turning 9/11 into a worn-out joke.  I do NOT feel any safer having our troops getting killed in Iraq.  I DO feel safer knowing that if any psychopath decided to aim a missile at my island that it would be detected and shot down.

All the candidates, on both sides just want to spend, spend, spend.  Where, I ask you, is this money going to come from?  We have literally burned trillions of dollars in Iraq, and we have nothing to show for it except outrageous oil prices ($27 before the war, $100 now).  Surge = Splurge.  Now we are claiming that we were attacked by Iranian speedboats; whose water were those boats on?  Last time I checked, the United States didn’t have any coastline in the Middle East.  And Pakistan?  We pay for Musharraf and his military; now we are going to pay for a “democratic” takeover?  Pakistan is only nuclear because we allowed Bhutto’s father to develop nukes against India; and then, of course, we decided to back India instead.  We have managed to support and then screw-over just about every single government in the 2nd and 3rd World.  My goodness, if we just stayed at home and spent the money on ourselves we could have a universal healthcare system that would transplant every citizen with a heart made of solid gold!

Face facts: We are BROKE!  We ARE in a recession and the only thing keeping us from feeling the true pain is artificially low interest rates.  We are floating along on a ship made out of paper.  Eventually, paper will sink!

Remember, very few primaries allow Independents to vote, but the voice of Independents is clear: Change is needed.  So, if all goes as went New Hampshire, then Hillary will be the Democratic candidate.  Some Republican will eek out a win and run against her, but who cares, no change there.  In the general election there will be no real choice for change.  So, what will probably happen is that Michael Bloomberg will plow his billions of dollars into an Independent race, and then Lou Dobbs will toss his hat into the race and probably win.  For the record, this is my opinion: There is no one I hate more than Hillary … Except John McCain.  There is no one I hate more than John McCain … Except Michael Bloomberg.  I am from NY, and I know the Devil when I see him, and Bloomberg is the Devil Incarnate.  No NYC Mayor has ever managed to rape the rest of New York State nearly as bad as he has; and let me tell you, that is surely saying something.

So, why should Ron Paul supporters be optimistic?  Two words: Nevada and Maine.  I suggest that Ron Paul focus on Nevada instead of South Carolina (both on Jan.19).  Huckabee has SC hands-down, so Paul should focus on a physical presence in Nevada where the Constitutional, anti-regulation, anti-FED message has a strong following.  All the other Republicans are going to be blanketing SC, so Paul will be ignored.  Yes, attend the Jan. 10 debate in SC and have a few rallies, but then take this chance to win over Nevada!  Of course, make a stop in Michigan along the way.

Florida and Maine:  The Maine (Feb.1) primary is two days after Florida (Jan. 29).  Paul MUST make a stop in Maine sometime before February 1st.  This is the last bang before Feb. 5!  Everyone else will be bombarding Florida and ignoring Maine.  Please DO NOT ignore Maine!  Here’s the scoop on Mainers – the People are extremely independent, anti-government gun lovers.  The few pockets of liberal elites that live in the urban areas control the entire state and have destroyed Maine.  Maine has lost its manufacturing jobs and farms, so the liberals have made the People dependent on welfare, so most people do not even participate in politics anymore.  BUT, if you actually speak to real Mainers or Vermonters or rural New Yorkers, they HATE liberals with a passion.  And, all these folks communicate with each other (closer cultural ties with each other and Canada than with mainstream USA).  Please, Ron Paul, at least make a stop in Bangor, as it is centrally located and everyone in the state can get there within 5 hours.  Portland is close to New Hampshire, but is very liberal (birth control to 11-year-old girls without parental permission).  Northern Maine is very conservative (homeschoolers!), but harder to get to (especially with the current 5+ feet of snow and 26 below zero temps).  Hey, who needs to bask in Florida sun when you can embrace politically ignored Maine?  Plus, the local press will cover it.  I’ve seen some mention of Ron Paul in letters to the editor.  All Maine needs is face-to-face proof of Dr. Paul’s greatness.

This election Senator Susan Collins (R) is up for re-election in Maine, and a (supposedly) libertarian-leaning Democrat is challenging her.  Describing this race, one blog states “Maine is an interesting state because it’s very difficult to cut it up by partisan lines. It’s part New England, part Deep South, with a strong Western streak thrown in to boot. It’s also one of the most Libertarian states in the union.” http://thecrossedpond.com/?p=501

Maine has a Republican – Libertarian legislator who voted for Ron Paul in 1988!  Ron Paul’s platform convinced R. Kenneth Lindell to become a Libertarian in 1988, and today he is a Republican legislator.  Read his story here: http://libertyunbound.com/archive/2006_07/lindell-representative.html

February 1st – Maine Primary Day – the LAST BANG before Super Tuesday!  Let all the weasels fight it out with the gators down in Florida!  Ron Paul will take Maine!

Listen, Ron Paul’s ardent supporters are going to vote for him no matter what.  But, as we saw in Iowa and New Hampshire, it is an actual physical presence that matters to early primary states, not just TV ads.  In Florida and South Carolina there are going to be so many candidates that the People will be flustered.  In Nevada and Maine there will be fewer or no other candidates for the People to actually meet.  As voters in New Hampshire said, they make up their minds only after they actually meet the candidates in person.  The mainstream media ignores Paul no matter where he goes or what he does; Ron Paul can make a real statement by addressing the people the other candidates ignore.  Plus, the local press will cover him, and real People will read it.  Also, it seems to me that when people actually hear Dr. Paul speak, they truly begin to understand what he is saying and embrace him.  I remember earlier in the year when Dr. Paul gave an amazing speech in New Hampshire on economic and fiscal policy and the crowd loved it.  Sadly, that was almost nine months ago, and I fear that many people forgot and embraced Huckabee or McCain instead.  All the other candidates literally hit the ground shaking people’s hands for days on end.  I know it is hard, but it seems to work.

As for the message, I would start a full-throttle economic, fiscal policy campaign.  Our entire country knows we are up a creek, they just do not understand why.  Everyone already knows Ron Paul is against the war; if that is the only thing a person likes about him, well that person is either an Obama or Kucinich supporter.  Ron Paul will never get the votes of the Left because they foolishly believe Obama will end the war.  Kucinich would have, but Obama will not.  The economy is current, the war is old news.  Should it be that way?  No, but that is how it is.  None of the candidates will talk about the war because they are all for it, and obviously the People do not care.  I had to flip between New Hampshire primary coverage and CNBC to watch the record-breaking price of gold.  People know something is wrong, and Ron Paul is the only candidate who can explain it to them.

Sound-bites are not Ron Paul’s strong suit, that is why the debates suck.  Real politicians excel at sound-bites, but the root of our current problems are economic, and sound-bites can not explain them at all.  During the ABC debate, when asked about the price of oil and Paul explained the three charts in the WSJ showing the price of oil relative to the US Dollar, the Euro and Gold, he proved his point about currency inflation and none of the other candidates made fun of him because he was right and that was the first time he got to show his intelligence without being mocked, talked over or laughed at.  What Ron Paul has to do is get a bunch of open-minded Independents and Republicans in a room and give one of his monetary and anti-government speeches and they will be hooked.  Now it is close enough to the primaries that they will actually remember it, too.

Ultimately, no matter what happens, we must remember that this race is not about Ron Paul, but about his message.  Back in May, in Reason Magazine, David Weigel wrote the following in his article The Paul Paradox:

This isn't a dream scenario. In 2004, Dennis Kucinich got no serious media coverage and a few table scraps of endorsements. The only ones anyone remembers were deathless campaign finance reformer Granny D and a children's book character. Yet in the Feb 7 Washington state primary, Kucinich got 8.2 percent of the vote. One day later in Maine he got 15.8 percent of the vote. He came within 650 votes of winning the tiny Hawaii caucus. In the last months of the campaign, when the rest of the field had dropped out in order to maximize their time kissing John Kerry's ring, Kucinich racked up thousands of votes and a total of 64 delegates, locking in a speaking slot at the Democratic convention.    http://www.reason.com/news/show/120387.html

The key here is that as long as we do not give up, Ron Paul’s message will continue to spread.  All we need is enough delegates to so that Dr. Paul can give a speech at the Republican convention.

Ron Paul’s message is the only thing right now that will save our country from absolute oblivion.  If he only awakens a few more souls, even if another moron becomes president, at least the People will be aware of their Rights.  The People will be awakened to the FACT that the United States Government is OF the People, BY the People and FOR the People.  We the People are not your slaves, and you have NO Right to tell us what we can and cannot do.  You will not destroy OUR COUNTRY by forming any unconstitutional union, starting anymore unconstitutional wars, or printing anymore unconstitutional hollow currency.  You will not dictate to Us, but you will represent Us, as that is the ONLY RIGHT you, OUR Government, have under the Constitution of the United States of America.

End of the Two-Party System? Can Barack Obama and Ron Paul Unite America?

End of the Two-Party System?  Can Barack Obama and Ron Paul Unite America?

By Natalie Schultz

Let’s face facts: If Barack Obama wins the nomination the Republicans have no chance of winning in November.  That is why the Republicans are still praying for a Clinton Machine comeback; hatred towards Hillary runs deep, even among some Democrats.  So, any analysis of a Republican win in November must be viewed through a lens of Hillary as the Democrat’s nominee.  And, although a rational view of what has happened so far to both Hillary and Romney should put both of them into the ‘They blew it’ category, we know from past experience that the Clinton Machine does have an uncanny way of distorting reality so it ends up in their favor.

The three favorites of the GOP leadership have floundered: Romney has lost his footing by spending more than any other candidate in an attempt to convince everyone, with all different and contradictory points of view, that he stands for what they believe in.  That tactic may work in the end for Clinton, as that Machine seems to have the same power as Big Brother (all truth somehow gets lost in everyone’s unconscious), but at this point, Romney may as well take that seldom used hunting rifle of his and aim for a clear shot: his foot.  Only time will tell if Rudy’s Florida strategy will work, but even if it does, he is turning 9/11 into a worn-out joke.  Fred Thompson’s lazy, lackluster strategy seems to have the best shot for the GOP.  My guess is that some people just don’t pay all that much attention to either political coverage or the candidate’s voting records, so his ‘Law and Order’ stardom seems to be carrying some real world weight.

The current GOP leadership, under control of the Neo-CONs, fears Huckabee because his foreign policy knowledge is non-existent, his social policy only caters to the Evangelicals of the Religious Right, and his immigration and economic record flies in the face of everything Conservatives and Republicans hold dear.  He might as well be running as a Democrat.  Maverick McCain, although very pro-war, which the Neo-CONs love, again, on immigration and economic policy issues, might as well be running as a Democrat.  Also, his openly pro-war stance, especially his admitting that he plans to stay in Iraq for the next 100 years, sends painful red flags through the GOP since they are trying to shift the subject of war away from Iraq toward a national defense rhetoric.

Then there is the magnanimous Ron Paul.  Ron Paul is to the current round of Republican contenders what Barack Obama is to the Democrats: they both have overwhelming support of that large segment of America known as Independents.  They are both the only candidates who have truly been against the War in Iraq from day one.  Obama is the only Democrat who does not plan to “mandate” (put a gun to our heads) that all Americans buy health insurance.  Both Paul and Obama want healthcare to be more affordable, but only the Free Market can do that.  It is our current government, by caving into special interests and lobbyists, such as trial lawyers (Edwards) and insurance companies that have caused the cost of medical services to increase beyond the reach of many Americans.  Hillary Clinton owes more of her campaign funding to these very special interests than all the other candidates on either side combined.  Both Obama and Ron Paul received their campaign funds from small, individual grass-roots donations; they received hard-earned money from real American people.  Ron Paul understands first-hand that great, quality healthcare can be obtained by every American citizen, but only if the government butts out.  Ron Paul is an actual medical doctor.  He had been practicing medicine long before our government was bought-out by lobbyists such as insurance companies, trial lawyers and other special interests.  Ron Paul refused to accept government funds for his services; instead he treated poor people for free or at a low cost they could afford.  Most doctors would be willing to treat patients for smaller fees, but today they cannot because corrupt trial lawyers sue at every chance, leading insurance companies to charge doctors millions of dollars to cover such malpractice suits.  This is why our healthcare is so expensive, not because our doctors are greedy, but because our government has allowed these corrupt trial lawyers to control them.  Doctors are the victims just as much as we patients are; their hands are tied.  They cannot practice medicine without malpractice insurance, and those insurance rates are so high because of all the frivolous lawsuits, so doctors must pass those exorbitant fees onto patients.  If our government representatives did not fund their campaigns with this ‘diseased’ money, then the doctors could focus on treating people instead of worrying about being sued by money-hungry lawyers.

As far as economics and business are concerned, even Fox News business analysts say Ron Paul’s views are best for the economy, only going with Rudy as their second choice.  Fox News hates Ron Paul, even banning him from their forum in New Hampshire, so this is definitely saying something.  If anything, the GOP leadership has to realize that not only is the Republican Party in decline, but the viewership of Fox News is falling in lock-step.  The New Hampshire Republican Party even withdrew its sponsorship of that debate because of Fox’s anti-Ron Paul bias.  Ron Paul’s economic policy, laissez-faire, is the traditional Conservative Republican policy; this is the policy that our Founding Fathers built our great country upon.  The problem with the Republican Party is that over the past decade, the GOP leadership has gone against true Free Markets, and instead embraced the Clintonian concept of government controlled trade deals such as NAFTA and the WTO.  Both Ron Paul and Barack Obama are wholeheartedly against these unfair trade deals that have made the Military Industrial Complex and a handful of politicians very wealthy at the expense of the American People.  True Free Market policy today goes by the name of Fair Trade; the difference is that in a Fair Trade situation the government would not be able to prop up inefficient global companies through tax incentives and subsidies that put small American businesses and American workers at risk.  Deals such as NAFTA and the WTO destroy all local economies around the world, from the small American family farmer to the middle class who once could rely on a strong manufacturing base in this country.  Even in Europe, the Danish company LEGO has had to lay off thousands of local Danish workers because they could not compete against toys made in China and Latin America.

The American Dollar, once the strongest currency in the world, has become almost as worthless as old Wall Street ticker tape.  Inflation runs rampant as our government continues to borrow from countries such as China, which leads to increasing National Debt and has allowed many of our enemies to buy out some of our largest companies.  Ron Paul is the only candidate who advocates for a return to the Gold Standard.  Many people laugh at this because they do not understand it.  No, you will not be walking around with gold bullion in your pocket.  By pegging currency to a precious metal such as gold it guarantees that there is a valuable source of collateral backing it up.  It is like when you get a mortgage from a bank to purchase a house, the house is your collateral; if you do not pay your mortgage the bank then owns the house and can sell it and get its money back.  Our currency problem today in fact mirrors our sub-prime mortgage crisis.  Banks lent money to people who could not afford to purchase houses; because banks were so willing to give out money to just about anyone, even interest-only mortgages, the housing market boomed, causing all home prices to rise well above what they truly would be worth in a solid economy.  Then suddenly, when these mortgages came due at the “real” rates, the rates that truly reflected the costs that the borrower should have been paying from day one, millions of people could not pay and all these homes ended up in foreclosure.  Because so many houses ended up in foreclosure at the same time, basically flooding the housing market with “For Sale” signs, the value of everyone’s home equity suddenly plummeted.  Essentially, what happened is that American homes became as valuable paper money.  The real world is not a Monopoly game, and Ron Paul is the only candidate willing to face facts and admit that we must get back to reality and peg the American dollar to gold so that it cannot be artificially inflated.  Will it be painful?  Yes, but the slope we are sliding down right now is only keeping the pain at bay by anesthetizing reality by borrowing more and more money from foreigners, many of whom are a threat to us, and in the end the pain won’t matter because America as we know it will be slaughtered.

During the ABC debate, the cost of oil was brought up, and Ron Paul spoke about three charts that showed the cost of oil over the past several years in relation to the Dollar, the Euro and Gold.  The cost of oil for Americans using the dollar has increased by over 300%, in relation to the Euro the cost of oil has risen over 200%, but in relation to gold the cost of oil was flat.  This means that if the American Dollar was still pegged to Gold, then the cost of oil would not be affecting the lives of Americans as negatively as it is.  In addition, the cost of oil went from $27 a barrel before the war in Iraq to $100 today.  The same can be said for food and travel costs; we are importing more and more food and goods from oversees, ignoring the lack of safety standards, these goods cannot keep being imported at dirt-cheap prices; current prices are artificially deflated by countries such as China illegally subsidizing its goods and deflating its currency in order to prevent other manufacturers from competing.  Once China has completely dominated the world’s manufacturing industries it will allow the Chinese Yuan to return to true market rates, and the American dollar will be utterly worthless.  China will take over all of our big businesses and banking industry, and we will not even be able to afford to keep our defense spending up and we will be sitting ducks for invasion.  Essentially, we are heading down a road on which we are bankrupting ourselves; instead of outspending the Soviet Union on military defense, we are devaluing our currency and paying for our enemies to build mighty militaries against us because we are borrowing money from them and paying them high interest payments.

Ron Paul is the only candidate on either side who has a true understanding of economics and how economics is the ONLY factor that affects every aspect of our lives, not only as individuals, but as a sovereign nation.  All of the issues, both foreign and domestic, revolve around the state of the American Dollar.  All of the current candidates were for the invasion of Iraq, except for Obama and Paul.  At the same time, these candidates refuse to acknowledge the dangers we face from countries such as China.  Iraq was not an imminent danger to the United States, we know now that Saddam Hussein did not have WMD.  The Neo-CONs can spin the rhetoric against countries such as Iraq and Iran all they want, but the American People are sick of all the lies.  The American People are aware that the combined powers of the Neo-CONs and the Clinton Machine have led our country down this road to destruction.  The current War in Iraq began under Clinton and came to a head under George W. Bush; NAFTA began under Clinton and has expanded under George W. Bush.  The America People are sick of all the lies, we are sick of having the wool pulled over our eyes.  John Edwards applauded Teddy Roosevelt, the great Republican who took on the monopolies and ended their wrath against the American People.  Today our government has become united in a world-wide monopoly over individual rights and freedoms.  Our government no longer represents our interests; we borrow money from China to fight a war against Iraq; Iraq never had the money to build a military large enough to destroy us, but China does.  How can we blindly allow these candidates to sway us with rhetoric when they are stealing our money and our rights and giving it away to countries like China?  We worry about the domestic healthcare crisis, yet that will not matter one bit if we continue our record of propping up our enemies.  We created our current crisis in the Middle East by propping up regimes such as Saddam Hussein and the Iranian Shaw, and even Osama Bin Laden.  Now we are doing the same in China, by paying them interest rates on the money we borrow to fund our excessive spending.  When will we learn our lesson?

The American People are sick and tired of a government that no longer represents our interests.  We are sick and tired of a government who allows good jobs to be sent oversees, of allowing Big Business to lobby for more H1-B Visas so well-paid college educated Americans can lose their jobs to lower-paid immigrants.  We are sick of seeing our tax dollars being spent defending borders oversees when our borders here at home are wide open.  We are sick, literally, of seeing politicians receive money from special interests and lobbyists who only want the freedom to sue doctors for malpractice rather than cure Americans’ illnesses.  And yes, we are sick, literally, that our government is willing to put small family farms out of business through over-regulation while at the same time allowing poisonous food and goods from China to enter this country unregulated.

America needs a President who will stand up for Americans, who will defend our Rights to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.  America needs a President with real life experience and a true understanding of our current foreign and domestic problems.  America needs a President who will just say NO to all the special interests and lobbyists.  America needs “Dr. No”: Ron Paul: an experienced Air Force surgeon, a real medical doctor, a leader who has actually studied economics.  A congressman who spends his time reading every bill that comes up for a vote and always takes the floor to explain why it is good or bad.  A true defender of the freedoms this country was built on, a man of integrity who listens to no special interests and bases every vote on our most sacred document, the Constitution of the United States of America.

If Hillary Clinton becomes the Democrat’s nominee, then the Republicans had better leave the Neo-CONs in the dust and nominate Ron Paul if they are to have any chance of winning in November and saving us from yet more Clintonian tyranny.  Ron Paul is the only Republican candidate with support from Independents and Democrats.  And 2/3 of Democrats have already shown that they do not like the Clinton Machine.   The age of Neo-CON tyranny is breathing its last breaths, so stop pandering to the past and embrace FREEDOM!

If Barack Obama becomes the nominee for the Democrats, so be it.  Americans truly are ready for change.  But we want real change, and we want it fast.  Our economy is too far gone, our international reputation is all but shot.  We do not have time for a President who is far behind the learning curve.  Obama claims to be a “Uniter,” a person who can bring together Democrats, Republicans and Independents.  Ron Paul has the very same reputation.  They have the same views on the most pertinent issue of our time: The Iraq War.  Obama needs a running mate with experience who is also a uniter, not a divider.  The Neo-CONs may hate Ron Paul, but the Neo-CONs hate America.  Fox News may hate Ron Paul, but America hates Fox News.  If America truly is ready for change, truly ready to embrace a new form of government, a government that truly represents the PEOPLE, then America is ready and jumping at the chance to vote out our two-party system.  America is ready for a Barack Obama – Ron Paul ticket this November!

Huckabee won, Ron Paul was Ignored, CNN Lost

This debate made FOX News seem fair and balanced. CNN lost a lot of respect in my opinion. First of all, they allowed McCain to go on forever, while cutting other candidates off after a minute. Secondly, they allocated the questions and answers to the candidates whose opinions are already known; what good is that? Of course Tancredo is against the immigration bill and McCain is for it.

The most memorable comment was Huckabee's stance on Creationism.  He is right - why are they asking him this, AGAIN?  He answered with such elegance and honesty.  The next best comment was when Tancredo said that Carl Rove told him that because he criticized Bush that he would be a dark mark on the White House.  He replied that he would say to Bush what Rove said to him.  Good!  Bush is a disragace to Conservatism.  Huckabee also agreed that the Bush administration is corrupt and that Republicans deserved to lose in 2006.  Duncan Hunter's direct answer of "NO!" in following the example of Schwarzenegger to attract independents was great.  He was dead-on in accusing the McCain, Romney, Bush factions of the party of being led by Ted Kennedy.   Thompson was right - we were elected in 1994 to change Washington, but Washington changed us.
It's true - Republicans have become Democrats, but Democrats are the professional spenders; we are amateurs and have to get out of the spending race.  Republicans are supposed to cut spending and cut taxes, yet the Bush administration has failed miserably on the spending side of the coin.

The most ridiculous comment was McCain who said that he didn't want to write the bill the way it was written.  What?  He wrote it!  That's like Hillary on making English "official"; she said it is already the "national" language.  But guess what: both she and Obama voted AGAINST making it the "national" language last year.  So, if it wasn't for the fact that a majority of Senators other than Hillary and Obama had voted for it, it would NOT be the "national" language.  I hate when Politicians try to take credit for something they are clearly against.
"I voted for it before I voted against it."  When will we ever learn?

The best question was definitely the guy who asked Romney why he was running his campaign in Spanish.  That probably caused him to lose all respect, since he didn't actually answer the question.  He went off on defending the border and supporting legal immigration.  The problem is that most Americans understand the fact that the majority of LEGAL immigrants do speak English, it is the ILLEGAL immigrants who do not speak English. Therefore, if he is being honest when he claims to be against illegal immigration, he would not be running his campaign in Spanish.
I think I'll run for President and campaign in German or Byelorussian or French or something, then my grandmother will vote for me.  Oh, wait, she learned English the second she arrived here.  Eisenhower didn't need to speak any language other than English to get my grandparents' votes, and they had literally just gotten off the boat, LEGALLY after waiting YEARS, even with a sponsorship from an American relative, for approval from the American government.

Regarding this concept, Tancredo actually lost respect when he said that a true American gives up all cultural ties to their homeland.  He is dead wrong on that.  In fact, I think one bad thing about America is that many European descendents have lost their cultural morals and values.  He is right that our current immigration policy lets so many people in so fast that it has led to a sort of Balkanization in which those communities don't assimilate into the general popluation.  It is true that we used to go in cycles, one generation would have a high number of immigrants enter, then the next would have a low level of immigration and the immigrants could settle into the American fold.  Now so many people enter all the time that they just sort of get lost.  But giving up your cultural identity does not make you an American.  My mother grew up in an all European community here where there were numerous European languages spoken and there were all sorts of European eateries, but everyone learned English and everyone belonged to a church.  The churches ended up being the personal ethnic centers for each nationality, where (at least in my church) the people tried to overthrow Communist regimes back in our homelands.  But outside of church everyone eventually spoke English.  Maybe it's because most Europeans already spoke numerous languages (my grandparents spoke 4-5 each before English).  But my mother went to an American public school and by the time she was a teenager she looked more like Annette Funicello than a Polka dancer.  Actually, her generation became so American that everyone moved away and married Americans, so there is almost no one left under age 50 in our church.  My mother's biggest complaint is the lack of community in our area; everyone is very private and daisies creeping over the property line lead to major community disputes.  She blames it on the loss of church community; I think she is right.

Ron Paul said our offensive military spending is so out of control, and our troops spread so thin that just bringing them back here to DEFEND our country would save many lives and trillions of dollars.  It truly would save enough money to fix things like social security and medicare.  Paul was the only one willing to say that overhauling our foreign policy would not only make us safer, but also lead to alternative energy innovations (by not fighting for M.E. oil), and help improve our domestic financial problems.  That is the role of the federal government: Defend the country, but do not spend the People's money to fight offensive wars and spread "Americanism."

Most of the second-tier candidates who opposed the liberalizing of the Republican Party were dead-on.  Too bad the debate was so skewed to the Bush-mongers among the candidates.

All this debate did was ensure that Hillary will be our next President.  That was probably CNN's goal.  Yeah, you can argue that the Bushies in the base will vote for a McCain or Rudy because of their "offence, not defence" stance, but that is guaranteed to give the White House to the Dems.  Yet again, by not acknowledging WHY the rest of the world hates us and wants to attack us, Rudy and McCain and Romney aim to gain votes through fear.

Ron Paul was dead-on when he attacked them for wanting to NUKE Iran before they even try to attack us.  That is not the answer.  The answer is to work with our enemies and negotiate a peace agreement, and that will only happen if we pull out our forces and stop forcing our morals and values on them.  I do not want any Muslims or anyone else telling me how to live my life, so why should they accept us telling them how to live?
Ron Paul was right - we cannot enforce goodness through the barrel of a gun, we can only hope that by actually living by our Constitution and preserving our liberties that we will set an example for the rest of the world to aspire to.  He was also the only one to point out how un-Christian this war is; it does violate the Christian concept of a Just War.

We are repeating the mistake of the Crusades, a war we lost.  We lost because Europe was invading the Arab lands.  But, when the Muslims were trying to take over Europe, Poland and Russia defended the borders and kicked the Muslims out.  That was a Just war - defending Europe against Muslim invasion was the right thing to do; invading Muslim nations in the name of Christianity was not Just.  That is why Chechnya is so controversial - it is not an Arab country - they invaded Russia and stole it, not the other way around.  Listen, I'm Orthodox and there is nothing more annoying than the fact that the Ottomans stole the Hagia Sofia and turned the Byzantine Capitol of Constantinople into Istanbul.  That land, without question, is European.  Greece and Russia had every reason and right to fight for it.  It is separated from Anatolia (Asia) by the Bosphorus Strait.  It was rightfully returned to Greece (having finally won freedom after hundreds of years of Ottoman control) after WWI by the Treaty of Sevres, only to have the Americans steal it from Greece and give it to the Turks in the 1923 Treaty of Lausanne.  America was pro-Turkey and violated thousands of years of recorded history by giving Greece's historic Capitol to the invaders who sacked it in 1453 AD.  Historical documents prove that it had been a Greek city since the year 668 BC, yet America came in and overturned the fair treaty that returned it to the Greeks who had suffered under Ottoman rule for 450 years.  No one disputes that that little city is the only part of modern-day Turkey that is on the European continent, so why did we overturn the Treaty of Sevres that our European allies had signed with the Ottomans?
The citizens of France and the Netherlands refused to ratify the EU Constitution when it was brought to a referendum vote because of the Turkish question.  Turkey is not European, it never has been.  Just because America waltzed in and overturned almost 3,000 years of history does not make us right.  We allowed most of Greece to keep its independence after 400 years of Ottoman rule, by why did we not  allow Greece to keep its most important historic city?
This is a very important question right now, not just in the EU, but between America and Russia as well.  Putin is a true Orthodox Christian.  We (Orthodox) do not go around trying to covert others to our beliefs, but we are very offended when others come in and tell us that we have to change.  Orthodox Russians are very wary of anyone telling them what they can and cannot do because for 70 years they were forced to practice their religion underground or else face prosecution from the Communists.  My grandfather was very active in supporting the underground movement in Byelorussia to keep the language, culture and religion alive.  After the Coup we celebrated; unfortunately our people back there no longer have any knowledge of their true history and culture.  They have been brainwashed into believing that they are Russians (historically we were never Russian, we are White Ruthenian, a dinstinct ethnicity whose monarchy was always Lithuanian and language Byelorussian, until we joined with Poland and then were annexed by Catherine the Great).  Byelorus (modern-day Belarus) is a perfect example of what happens when a nation forgets its historical origins and culture.  200 years of oppression from first the Russian Czars and then the Communists led to the death of a language, the loss of a religion and the acceptance of a Communist Dictator.  I have no reason to defend Russia's stance since Russia destroyed my grandparents' homeland, but I do undertand why Russians are wary of American influence.  After hundreds of years of imperialism and then Communism, I believe that the Russian people have finally realized that it is not worth it, that it is just better to defend your own people, not take over other countries.
America screwed Greece and Constantinople.  Russia is the country that fought to set the Greeks free from Turkish rule.  Of course Putin is pissed off at us, of course he sees our missiles in Poland and Czech as a threat to Russia.  We won't allow Russia to defend itself against the Chechnyans, but we don't even understand the reasons for those tensions in the first place.
We (Orthodox Christians) are not fighting to restore Constantinople to its rightful status as the Capitol of Orthodox Christianity.  We have conceded defeat and given it up.  But we are not willing to give up anymore of our rights.
Turkish control of Constantinople is not Just.  The Ottomans controlling the Greeks was not Just.  America controlling the world is NOT JUST!

Blitzer totally ingored Ron Paul, especially right at the end. They allowed the top 3 to go off on the "We must take over the world and enforce democracy through war" rant and then Blitzer ended the debate. He should have allowed Paul to knock them off their pathetic tyrannical horses.

Huckabee won hands down in my opinion because he stood his ground and proved his knowledge and conservatism.
Ron Paul wasn't even given a chance.

Rudy was on happy pills, McCain was on some sort of mellow drug, and Romney seemed uneasy.
The top three failed, but since the debate focused on them it was a futile waste of time.
CNN sucks!

It Ain't Amnesty, Stupid!

It Ain’t Amnesty, Stupid!
Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act Emphasizes the Failure of Our Government
By Natalie Schultz

The current Immigration Bill that has been pushed through the Senate at the behest of a handful power-mongers in an attempt to blindside America’s citizens is proof positive that not only does the current government not listen to the People, but that they constantly pass through faulty legislation before thinking through the consequences.  This bill undermines our security, rewards illegal activity, harms the working class, and will lead to the most devastating ecological disaster the world has ever seen.  The Amnesty Bill of 1986 did not work; the American government refused to uphold the law and secure the border.  Now the illegal border crossings have increased ten-fold, our social services are buckling under the weight, and our government wants to repeat history.  What sort of logic would McCain and Kennedy use to justify re-hashing a bill that was a failure 21 years ago to fix the problem that was caused by not following through with the laws of the original bill?  Stop letting George W. Bush and McCain twist what we are saying: we are not saying that we must go round up the 12 million illegals and deport them; we are saying that we want the current law to be enforced.  Until the border is fully secured we will not accept any new legislation. This bill is wholly irresponsible and must be defeated.

The USA is not meant to be the police force of the world:  We are a Republic, not an Empire.  The world does not want us policing them, and we should have no desire to do so.  That being said, we are not meant to be the babysitters and wet-nurses for the problems of the world either.  Our government has been on a Crusade over the last century of destroying to create.  We destroy sovereign nations in the name of progress and prosperity; in turn we spend billions of dollars in foreign aid in an attempt to repent for our sins.  Within our own borders both Republicans and Democrats have waged war on our own citizenry by importing an underclass of workers who erode our sovereignty in the name of Industrial Corporatism.  The Republicrats then attempt to use this underclass of imported workers to win votes.  The only losers are the hard-working Americans whose wages are undercut not by the free market, but by corrupt politicians.

The free-market, and only the free-market will lead to world-wide prosperity.  There should be no reason to believe that The United States presents the only place where one can achieve the “American Dream”; that concept is triumphalist.  The populist Liberal rhetoric claims everyone to be equal and able to prosper, then why do we insist that such prosperity is only available in America?  Why do we insist that to prosper one must give up one’s cultural identity and leave their homeland?  That logic is not only irrational, but ethnocentric.  There is much to love about America, and much can be learned here, but there is no reason to believe that one must live here to thrive.  Foreign Aid as we dispense it now is meant to support corrupt governments and multinational industrial corporations who increase the profits of a powerful select few, not the people who truly need the aid to survive.  Stop all foreign aid now; instead invest in local economies through education and individual micro-loans.  Americans have lost touch with their individual cultural uniqueness; there is no reason to turn the rest of the world into cookie-cutter versions of ourselves.  The only way to end poverty in Third World countries is to allow the people to express their cultural values and learn effective business skills that will allow them to thrive in their communities.  The Peace Corps works, Big Brother America does not.

A guest-worker program within reason is understandable, but not for the sake of politicians paying back industrial lobbyists for their campaign support in the form of workers who will work for lower wages than their American counterparts.  America has encouraged her citizens to study science and engineering at college with the promise of well-paying jobs.  Why then, is the IT sector lobbying for more H1-B visas for high-tech workers?  Because a person from India will jump at the chance to come work here for a much lower wage than an American.  Such visas were necessary 10-15 years ago when there weren’t enough Americans with the required high-tech skills, but now the problem has reversed and the big IT companies prefer hiring H1-B foreigners for less than half the salary of an equally educated American.  Foreigners are willing to work longer hours for less money because in general living here is much more pleasant than living in their home country; employers take advantage of foreign workers’ fears of losing their visas to exploit them.  Because these foreign workers are paid a decent wage, the liberals and union types don’t get into an uproar over their wages and working conditions, after all being paid $40,000 and working long hours in an air-conditioned office is not the same as working for pennies in a sweat shop.  But therein lies the problem: the fair wage for a highly educated engineer is actually closer to $100,000 because the market value of their skills justifies such a wage and the cost of achieving that level of education necessitates such a wage.  So an IT firm whose profits justify paying a highly skilled worker $100,000 should be willing to pay that wage to anyone they hire, foreign-born or an American.  But our government is beholden to the special interest groups and lobbyists, so they ignore the reality that many qualified Americans have been laid off and replaced by foreigners who are paid half the salary of a foreigner on an H1-B visa.  Where do our hard-working educated Americans end up?  Unemployed with thousands of dollars in student loan debt.  Until our government requires that IT firms prove that there is not a qualified American for the job, then H1-B visa quotas should not be increased.  Even some foreigners working here on H1-B’s are complaining that wages are being depressed and allowing more H1-B’s will push wages even lower, while the profits increase not through increased productivity or innovation, but through wage-cuts, and the benefits going to a handful of CEOs.

Studies by Duke University and the Programmers Guild prove that there is no longer a shortage of Americans graduating with high-tech degrees, rather they show declining salaries and a high level of unemployment among tech workers over age 40.  Compete America, the group that lobbies Congress on behalf of high-tech companies such as Oracle and Microsoft, harshly criticized the Sanders Amendment to the immigration bill because it requires that employers pay an additional $1,200 for each H1-B employee they import.  That additional money is specifically set aside to provide $15,000 scholarships for American students pursuing high-tech degrees.  Compete America complains that this fee is like is a tax that will force them to outsource jobs to foreign countries.  Bill Gates urged Congress to eliminate H1-B quotas all together; Compete America lobbied the Senate to pass the Cantwell – Cornyn Amendment that would allow H1-B entrants to permanently reside in the USA (currently they must re-apply every six years) and exempt foreigners with advanced degrees from the current quotas to work here.  This amendment would also eliminate all enforcement provisions that keep H1-B employers in check.  The Sanders Amendment aims to make sure America can keep up with technological innovation, but the corporate lobbyists are threatening to ship our jobs to India because of it.  If that is not enough proof to show how our government is not representative of the People as opposed to special interests, I don’t know what is.  Threatening to ship American jobs oversees because the new reforms require companies first try to hire an American and prevent big companies from firing Americans and replacing them with foreigners sounds like Mobster tactics to me.  In fact, the idea that they want to the right to fire Americans and replace them with foreigners PROVES that there are Americans able to do the job.

Why would the USA willingly harm US workers?  In an interview with the Financial Times Indian trade minister Kamal Nath threatened to derail trade negotiations saying “Failure to increase the H1-B quota would deny India the export gains it needed to make a deal.”  Since when are humans considered an export commodity?  Why do countries like Mexico and India expect us to absorb their over-population problems rather than taking advantage of fair trade practices that would create good jobs in those countries?  In response to the Durbin – Grassley “H1-B and L-1 Visa Fraud and Abuse Prevention Act 2007” Kamal Nath wrote a letter to Susan Schwab, US trade representative, “Such direct intervention by US senators would only create uncertainties in the minds of these (Indian IT) companies and undermine business confidence.”  What?  Our Senators writing a bill that prevents the displacement of U.S. workers and calls for a prevailing wage equal to that of equivalent US workers will undermine Indian IT companies who send their workers over here?  First of all, the US Congress is supposed to represent American workers, secondly, how is making sure Indians working here are paid the same wage as Americans a bad thing?  Tata Consultancy Services vice president Phiroz Vandrevala admitted that his company enjoys a competitive advantage because of its extensive use of foreign workers in the United States on H-1B and L-1 visas. “Our wage per employee is 20-25 per cent less than US wages for a similar employee.  It's a fact that Indian IT companies have an advantage here and there's nothing wrong in that. The issue is that of getting workers in the US on wages far lower than the local wage rate.”

We need an honest guest-worker program and an honest, FAIR-trade agreement.  NAFTA and WTO are not “free” trade.  There is nothing remotely free in any agreement that allows governments to tip the scales in favor of multi-national corporations over the backbone of our economy – our workers.  Fair trade practices would allow for honest import-export among our nations, but it only works if the workers on all sides are paid a fair, living wage.  Economies of scale do work in a fair trade situation; goods would still be produced more cheaply in India or Mexico even if the workers are paid a living wage and work in clean conditions.  The living wage in other countries is much lower than the living wage here, so more goods will still be produced more economically, but not at such an unrealistic low cost that our domestic manufacturing jobs are forced under.  If our politicians really cared about the Mexicans they would ensure that our corporations provide safe manufacturing facilities and a decent wage for the area.  That would help both the USA and Mexico by providing us with more goods at reasonable prices and good jobs in Mexico.  If Mexicans had good jobs down there they would have no reason to come up here.  Would we still need some workers to pick our crops?  Yes, but they could come here for the season and go back home in the winter; that’s what they want to do anyway.  Focusing on agriculture makes sense, but assuming that no Americans are interested in harvesting crops is ludicrous.  I know for a fact that working on a farm is a great job for some Americans; I have two cousins in Maine who for years worked on farms during their summer vacations.  One of my cousins opted to work on a small organic farm for $8 an hour, while my other cousin opted to work at a large blueberry farm for $15 a bushel of berries.  There may not be enough Americans to fill every agricultural job, but allowing immigrants to flood those jobs only exacerbates the problem by driving decent wages down.  So no, if the wages fall to $8 a bushel Americans won’t want to pick berries, but if the market prices for berries justify paying $15, which they do, then more Americans will want to pick berries.

The claim that all Americans are college-educated and refuse to do blue-collar jobs is the biggest insult to a very large portion of our country.  Americans do want good-paying jobs in industries like construction.  Those jobs were once very high-paying, and many do require skills.  The problem is that America has become a culture of dependency and our culture of dependency has bred a culture of tyranny.  The social programs that started as a safety net turned into a way of life and the beneficiaries became loyal Democrats, so the social spending kept increasing and we have all become dependent on the government, and that has enabled the government to tyrannically cater to the special interests and leave the majority of Americans behind.  There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch!  For every “benefit” we receive we pay the cost with a little bit more of our liberty.

It used to be that a job in construction was a great way for Americans to work their way up the ladder.  A contractor would hire apprentices and train them and they would work their way up, increasing their skills until they could go off on their own and start their own productive construction companies.  Construction was a true craft, and people could afford to have a home built for them by local craftsmen.  But then the culture of dependence began and an entire generation of capable workers decided it would be easier to just sit back and do nothing and live off government handouts.  So a large segment of low-skilled workers remained without skills and this created a void that enabled a few surviving construction companies to form into large-scale developers who found it more economical to hire illegals under the radar and pay them much less than the Americans they would otherwise have to hire.  The government supported this with excessive regulations and building codes that made the barrier-to-entry that much more difficult for any young person wanting enter the construction field and learn useful skills.  So now a well-made custom home costs millions of dollars so most people are relegated to buying crappy-quality tract homes for a lot of money simply because the regulations favor large firms and big-industry products that are not only of lesser quality than the materials used before all the regulations, but far worse for the environment.

The forgotten class of Americans, the desendents of the generations who became lost in the haze of the “system” are primarily minorities.  Their opportunity to work their way up the ladder has been lost to illegals and they have been relegated to working in places like fast-food establishments and Walmart.  Unfortunately, they are now competing for those service sector jobs with the millions of Americans whose manufacturing jobs have been shipped off to places like China.  Walmart is not to blame; Walmart has become an absolute necessity for many Americans not only because of the jobs it provides, but because the wages in many working-class areas of America have been so depressed that they can only afford to shop there.  It is the fault of our government for creating a culture of dependence and then allowing industrial-corporations to take over and break laws because they spend so much money lobbying politicians and funding their campaigns.  The fact is that prices and wages for a large segment, the “forgotten class” of America are depressed because of our government policies.  When you can buy a custom made silk wedding gown from China on ebay and the cost with shipping is far less than the material alone would cost over here, you know that the Chinese are engaging in unfair trade practices by subsidizing their workers and shipping costs in order to monopolize the world-wide textile industry.  That has forced hundreds of textiles mills over here to collapse like dominos.  The textile unions are not against international trade, but they are against China’s practices because they are beyond unfair.  When the primary function of unions becomes fighting our own government because of its fast-tracked trade normalization with tyrannical nations, then you know our government is out of control.  When the new homes built to modern tornado-proof code end up as a pile of rubble while the old home built before such codes stands tall you know something is wrong (why would code allow a house in tornado-alley to be built on a slab?  Hasn’t everyone seen the Wizard of Oz?).

How can China afford to subsidize its industries?  Because of all the interest we have to pay them on all the money we have borrowed from them to buy their under-priced goods.  Our government is essentially paying China to destroy us.

Democrats, attempting to claim the throne of environmental stewards, do not realize just how detrimental this Immigration Bill will be for our natural environment.  This bill increases the amount of legal immigration to this country by 65-100 million new people over the next twenty years.  That is 1/3 of our current population.  We are in the midst of an energy crisis; gas prices are near $4 a gallon now.  Not only will such an increase in population raise energy prices beyond the reach of the average American, we will never be able to become energy independent at that rate.  The economic implications will be staggering with the costs of energy and food creating automatic inflation like never before has been seen.  Already the demand for ethanol as a bio-fuel has led to increased prices for a variety of foods because farmers have switched over to planting corn for ethanol rather than food crops.  We are already importing too much contaminated food from China; with such an increased demand for food and water the overall effect will be nothing but disastrous for both the human population and other creatures that live here.

Our population right now is over 302,000,000 people.  According to the census bureau our population increases by one new person every ten seconds, that number includes one new international migrant every 27 seconds of every day.  That means that just over 2 new immigrants move to this country every minute, that is 120 new immigrants every hour, 2,880 new immigrants every day, and 1,051,200 new immigrants every year.  We already allow over one million new immigrants to move here every year, that is over 21 million new people every twenty years.  Does that sound isolationist?  We have a very fair immigration policy now; this new bill originally wanted to increase the number of new LEGAL immigrants by an additional 103 million people over the next twenty years.  That number has been cut to an additional 65 million new immigrants, but you know how our government can’t help but allow things to grow and grow.  Even so, at 65 million plus the current 21 million that equals an additional 86 million LEGAL immigrants over the next twenty years.  The 2000 census recorded 281 million people, yet now we have 302 million people: that is an increase of 20 million people in just seven years.  Obviously the estimated increase of one million people per year was underestimated by more than half.  No wonder we had a boom in the housing market!

Where are all these new people going to live?  This may be the land of endless prosperity for some, but it most certainly is not a land of endless physical land.  In fact the physical size of our country is decreasing through natural erosion along the coasts.  Eventually our natural environment is going to collapse.  We are already growing at a rapid rate, we do not need to exacerbate the problem.  An increase of 100 million new people in twenty years means we would have to double the size of each of the 15 most populous American metropolitan areas because there are 100 million people already living in the top 15 most populated cities and surrounding suburbs.  The New York Metropolitan area, including NYC, Northern New Jersey and Long Island currently has a population of 19 million people; that is only one-fifth of the proposed additional immigrant population.  NYC and all the surrounding suburbs are already built up to capacity and the home prices there reflect that.  The suburbs will need to expand and that will lead to more traffic congestion and pollution in what is arguably already the worst traffic jam in the world.  The natural beauty that made Long Island famous has disappeared into an endless mass of tract homes.  Allowing such an increase in human migration to this country will overload our cities and destroy our rural and wilderness areas. New York is a perfect example of how such an increase in population can hurt many Americans: the taxes and cost of living on Long Island is so high that many young working and middle class Long Islanders have been forced to leave the state.  Upstate New York has been hit by both high taxes compared to other rural areas plus almost all family farms going bankrupt due to industrial farm subsidies and the loss of almost all manufacturing jobs to China.  The government has become the largest employer in Upstate New York because the regulations and taxes legislated for NYC and its overpopulation are passed onto the country as well, thereby preventing new industries from relocating there because of all the regulations.  The high-density population of NYC relies on Upstate for all of its water and power needs now, but there is only so much of a natural water supply, eventually the water will dry up.

New York is the perfect microcosm of the macro-problems that such an unnecessary population increase will cause across the country.  Between the years 2000 and 2006 800,000 native New Yorkers have left the state, but 820,000 foreign immigrants have moved in; in 2004 the foreign-born population of New York was 20.4%.  Suburban sprawl from New York City includes Connecticut and parts of Pennsylvania, with a combined population of 22 million people.  One out of every fourteen Americans currently resides in this expanded NY metropolitan area.  So, immigration does not just affect the border lands or big cities, it affects the entire country as the Americans who have lived in those areas for generations are forced to move out.

Remember, these 100 million new immigrants are in addition to the natural increase in population due to births, and each immigrant is likely to reproduce, so the numbers will increase exponentially from there every 20 years.  So, right now, without this new immigration bill, the one million new legal immigrants who move here this year will naturally increase our population by an additional one million people by the year 2030 if every two immigrants have two children, so essentially for every one immigrant we let in we actually end up with two new people (assuming a basic replacement rate of births).  For every one immigrant you must calculate that they will have at least one child and probably grand children before they die.  We are living longer and longer; many children have great-grandparents alive today.  Our Social Security and Medicare system is already in shambles, even without any immigrants quadrupling our population.

Our politicians want a new class of voters so that they can continue getting paid for doing nothing.  They need a new underclass that will not grasp their hollow rhetoric and will just mindlessly vote for them.  If they were really doing their jobs they would realize just how devastating this bill will be, but no, that would actually require coherent, rational thought.  We the People, the citizens of America are not good enough for them, so they must import a new voting bloc.  This is great for the Democrats: import workers so Big Business can pay low wages, ship good manufacturing jobs oversees; now there is a huge population of working-class Americans who have no choice to be dependent on government entitlements, and the Democrats automatically increase their support base.  Then again, George Bush and his cronies all agree with the Democrats on both immigration and NAFTA / WTO, so essentially the only difference is that the Republican Party loses because it is no longer Republican.

Who is left to represent the people who responsibly strive to live the “American Dream”?

2003 story on job loses (things seem worse now)

http://www.thelibertypapers.org/2007/04/05/us-reaches-h1-b-visa-limit-on-first-day/
Those who are screaming for an increase in H1B quota are making this noise for the greedy corporations.
I am from India and currently an h1b worker. My parents were people living middle class lives in India. I worked hard all through my school years working 16 hrs or so every day and finally graduated with million other hard working kids like me. Then I worked in India for 4 years. So when a ‘Indian consultant in USA’ offered me 37K to work in America, I gladly took the offer. Later I realised that they had to ‘let go’ the american guy who used to do my current job and used to make a 100K, because of ‘funding’ problems. Now I see a lot of american contractors who are in line to be rolled over due to ‘funding’ problems.
So the bottom line, as I understand, is that there is such huge demand for h1b workers only becos these are people who would work for dirt cheap rates. I shouldnt be complaining about the whole thing. But I am scared that if you allow 200,000 cheap labor into this country every year, it would push down the salaries even further down.(becos there is no cap on greed)
Also, just try putting some real provisions to ensure the minimum wage requirements…u would see that all this cry for ‘real talent’ would stop in a minute and the total number of h1b applications wont meet even the current cap.
